Pretty Stocks

I’ve seen a few posts with pictures of really beautiful custom stocks. I’m not sure if they’re real wood, or look alike synthetic, it doesn’t really matter. I’ve searched the forum, but I guess I’m not using the correct keywords. If anyone has suggestions as to a source of cosmetically beautiful, traditional looking stocks, I’d appreciate it. Thanks!

There's nothing more beau T full than a nicely grained wood stock. However, they increase anxiety when in use.

Jason from Xring sent me a couple pictures today of some upcoming projects I'll be getting as soon as they are bedded.
1 is rosewood burl and curly rosewood with epoxy on the live edge.
The other 1 is Bobinga, wiengae, and coco bolo.
Ol Jason is cranking it up a couple notches!!

Search posts by Bc’z and Cigarcop. They post some beautiful pics. Also search for my “Do it yourself stockmaking thread.” Some guys have posted some beautiful stocks on it. Look towards the end.

Bubinga, I have worked with in the past. African redwood, hardness rating is twice that of oak. It is very heavy wood as well. I can't imagine an entire stock made from this. Seems heavy.or just end caps inlays?

It's my understanding its a waxy wood also.

I couldn't say at this point.
Stock is off to gunsmith for building before coming out to me for finishing. I have a curly maple headed this way should be here next week for 1 of my rootbeer dye jobs.
