I hear that ,he's a tradesman Heat & Air with a Van and has had it broken into more than a couple of times .

here's my problem . if i jump in my chevy hhr 4 cly fill the tank i'll drive around 400 miles before i pull in for gas . at that point it will take me about 5 minutes to be back on the road . how does that compare to a tesla or leaf ? and i'm talking all ev not hy -brid . so if i spend money on ev for running around town which they are well suited for i'll be buying a golf cart .

I expect to have an ICE vehicle for years to come but I am also interested in knowing more about electric vehicles.

Bunker fuel is usually expressed in tonnage . I had a very close friend who was captain of a DockWise Heavy lifter , the Mighty Servant 2 . Gus was captain for a number of years over 25 on several vessels and as a result of loss of Life , he was relived of command . Totally exonerated as a Typhoon had pushed them into un charted underwater unmarked coral head ,ship went down . So did Gus ,so to speak . Diesel electric is a very big thing. Ships engines to Freight Train engines are diesel electric. I would call that the perfect solution and a wonderful educational tool all in one. Generate those magic electrons at the site in which they are dispensed so that the electron consumer knows where they come from.

Solar doesn't save anything in the long run.
Wind doesn't save anything in the long run.
Until the rest of the world worries about CO2 emissions nothing changes.
US government control of CO2 emissions is really a regressive tax.
