I bought a BAT SV from a member here. I ordered a Hart 10 twist HV 20 cal barrel and sent it to Loren Lieder @Bibs Machine in Greeley CO for chambering and had him put it on the BAT. I bought two stocks from members here, settling on a Bruno/MCM BR stock with weight system. I bought a BR Jewell from our own Jewell trigger advertiser here on AS. I bought brass from members here and from advertisers here. I obtained load advice from guys on the small caliber forum. I got advice from every person I talked to and they were all very helpful and friendly. BAT helped with accessories and trigger guard. Stock tape and bag powder came from AS advertisers. I even found bullets (5000!!) and powder due to leads posted on the forums. I bought the windflags from the for sale forum.
EVERY person, business and member mentioned was FANTASTIC.
So here are first groups shot today in mild conditions. The scope is a Leupold 6-18 VX2. The load was 18 to 18.5 grains 2200, FED GM primer, Remington brass necked on Redding dies and equipment, 34 grain Dogtown. The groups start with dead conditions clockwise, starting on low left and end with the mess on the low right. My point of aim was the right corner of the "x". You can see that when conditions were dead, it dropped rounds right in the area...some right on. The ones outside were and are weather reports as I made no effort to hold off. Vertical was wind from directly behind, and the rounds to left are left wind. The last group was a hoot cause my flags were spinning all over. I do think there is a node at 18, but the velocity is not there. BTW, I am fireforming...first time fired brass.
I thnk it would shoot better in the wind with 40 grain bullets, but I can't find any.
Anyhow, this is a big THANK YOU to AS, and every person who has helped me. I think she is gonna shoot. More to follow when I start working out load development...
