Tack Driver III

That would be my kind of thinking and something not
to pass up. That much boiler room to play with, needs
a decent payload to test. Now if you have a compatible
twist rate ??
Maybe he doesn’t want to sale me any bullets LOL.
I can make any twist I need I’m open for guidance for sure but I don’t know many bullet maker’s.

What 7mm bullet do you have in mind?
I bought out the last lots of Sierra's 7mm 130 HPBT and
running it in my 284-ELF wild cat. Its a shortened 284
Winchester case to 1.680". About .170" shorter then the
6.5x47 and can hold a bit more powder. No one is
making a custom, so at this point, I'm turning to mono
bullets and continue my testing. Hammer sent me some
to test but my barrel orders have not been filled and over
due.

We’ll unless there’s something in the rules I’m definitely going prepared I will have my group rounds all the bullets will be different colors just in case of a double what blows out could also blow in.

I remember what you said about small bullet supply
and saving them for just one particular match but if
the cat runs like a scalded dog, you better save a few
samples....Just saying

If I’m going to run the 30 x 47 at this match with ,135 grain class bullets the experts that have shot this cartridge could you lean me in the right direction for what’s the best powder to use.
Need a little guidance for a rookie in the short range game.

Stan....If Alliant ever does another run of R-15.5, jump
on it, That 284 ELF of mine with the 130 grain bullets
have favored R-15, AA-4064 and Vhitavouri 135. Case
capacity is very close along with bullet weight to your
project 30x47. So far my ladders have favored AA-4064
at temps below 45 degrees. I need to test at higher temps.

At the present I have A2015 BR, H322,V133,Imr 8208,R15,H4895 in the faster burning rate of powder.

Stan I ran a modified 30x47 called the Jaguar 2 that Sid chambered me and I used it only at 200 & 300 yards and meters from 2016 to when the barrel gave up on me in 2018. I did pretty well with it. Was running 43.5-44.0 of 133 with a 16TW Hart using a 112 Bart. at 3225fps. I tried 135 in it and wasn't getting the accuracy I was getting with the 133. Federal 205's did not cut it either in that cartridge. When I changed to a BR4 the groups shrunk immediately. Cline had Ronnie Long chamber him a 30x47 barrel and he gave up on it. It just wouldn't perform for him.
