Anybody got any cool non shooting habits?

Used to golf, may get back into it some day if the kids show interest. Have a '76 CJ7 that my Dad and I rebuilt over the last 25 years, it fits in well with my main interest of getting outside and off the beaten path to hike, hunt or enjoy nature in general. Been fun to take the kids now that they're old enough.

When I'm in town I like to visit microbreweries. Been a big craft beer fan ever since I tasted my first Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Started flat tracking as a teen , and it progressed to TT racing . Think it's called Superbike now . Then a Summer driving a Sprint Car . Then a vacation in S.E. Asia , followed by two years Crew Chief on a AA/FC . Then Thirty-five years Skydiving , with all the Ratings and T-shirts to go with it . Got hurt in a industrial accident and couldn't Jump anymore , and was driving the wife nuts . She told me to find something to do . I didn't . She did . On the following Friday , She came home from work , and told me to get the "Stuff" out of the trunk . It was a matched set of Palmer Golf clubs , thus began my twenty year Odessey with Pasture pool . Two years part-time on the Mini Tours , and Senior Tour , and two shoulder surgeries later , I came back to shooting . I've lived my life , and had my fun doing the things I had interest in . At least I'm not siitin on the front porch in a rocker sayin , "Gee . I wish I'd done that when I was younger". Life's to short to be unhappy . Go do what you can , while you can . The rest will take care of itself later . And never look back .

Hot rodding a 1966 Chevy C10 w/a 500HP 454 BBC, hoping to have it on the road by the summer of 2022.
Did a 66 short wide in 1990 with a .060 454. Installed a late model front suspension with lower spindles, installed the leaf spring rear, cruise, tilt and telescope steering, and A/c. Gas tank was moved under the bed, Sachse Rod Shop did the interior. Had to tub the rear for the 8" and 10" Rally wheels. Painted it Porsche Raspberry. It eventually turned into my wife's Lexus.

Here is a new one for you, rocketry, flying rockets. Since 1971 I've been building and flying solid propellant rockets of all sizes and shapes. From the little Estes kits we all flew when we were kids up to as big as I dare.
Here is one of my favorites, the King Kraken. 42" long, 3" in diameter with flights up to 3000' AGL.
She is taking off on an H128 White Lightning motor. (Yes, the bit on the left is a piece of the launch pad blasted away by the exhaust.)

However, my favorite style is 50's retro. Behold the HMAS Bonestell!

Yes, everyone but me was shocked that it flew so well or at all.

Finally, the mothership, our Space Ark.

All three are of my own design. That includes the rocket on pad 25 in the photo above, it is the 3FNC. It belonged to a customer who helped me with this certification flight.
Need to find pictures of my 4" diameter upscale of the HMAS Bonestell.

The addiction started young with MX, working on cars and bikes to a shop that built Formula Ford and Mini Mods. So, of course I had to put a Mini Mod in a pinto then one in an MGB then I found these cool street legal dirt bikes :) !!! Then hanging the biggest outboards we could on the smallest boats without sinking them. I moved on to safer boats (Mastercraft) and took up barefoot skiing. Now I nurse old injuries and work on my sons MX bikes and try not to read post like this and get stupid ideas.
Now I'm content with woodworking and metal fab projects.

Pem, I always loved building and flying rockets. Remember the Astrocam110? Lol
Just out of curiosity, why type engine makes the black exhaust? I always remember white exhaust with the Estes engines, even the “D”sizes

What is the mixture of solid propellant.
All the motors I use are commercially produced by Aerotech and Cesaroni. Making your own motors with ammonium perchlorate, sorbitol or sucrose is called EX (experimental) flying. Google EX Rocketry. I fly at National Association of Rocketry events with commercial motors where members are insured against harm to persons or damages to property and small furry mammals. This came in handy at the last launch as two cars got dented and one guy suffered a minor scalp injury from rockets under recovery.

For some reason pic won't load. 1986 Trx250r. 87 long rod motor with 86 bored jug and spacer plate. Wiseco piston with peeled CR250 head gasket. 180psi static compression. Fmf fatty( yes I know that's not real "R" exhaust and a true tuned system was on the list before kids) boysen reeds durablue axle with bead locks up front. Fox dual rate shocks. We used to shred all the mine and mine wast dumps. Wow where did time go.

Yes, I do remember the Astrocam! These days miniature digital cameras are the logical choice. No more shipping off the film disk and waiting weeks to see if you got a shot.

As for the motors, A through D black powder motors are alive and well after all these years. Most of my commercial kits fly on "D" motors but the larger kits, like the ones in my post, fly on F through I ammonium perchlorate (AP) motors. AP motors come in several different flavors like black smokey, green, red, blue, white and sparky. Sparky motors rock! They are black like the smokey but shoot out bright yellow sparks of burning titanium sponge. I'll look for a picture.
The black plume above is from an H119 Smokey Sam.
For reference the letter designations run like this, B motors are twice as powerful as A motors, C are twice as powerful as B and so on. To answer the obvious question, motors are produced all the way up to Q. Those are 98mm in diameter and several feet long, I believe
