Thinking of a new build

Longer Neck to seat bullets as Throat wears, slightly less Powder, 500- 800 Rounds of, BETTER, Barrel "Life" and the LONG VLD, 108's - 110's FIT in a Rem 700 short action, Magazine and,. FEED properly ! Very BEST 1,000 yard Round,.. UN-less Wind blowing, WITH,.. LOTS of WINS !
I could go on But, do your own research as I tend to, .. Lie a lot !
A SWEET Cart.,.. Thank you,. David Tubb !
I'm sorry, my question wasn't about the 6xc but rather the 6.5 Creedmoor, it is a darn good shooting caliber and can fill many spots or shortcomings of other rounds.

The reason for the Remington actions is that stocks are readily available and I just like that action.
Several excellent clones out there that provide the benefits of compatibility and have advantages. I have both the 6.5CM and 6CM. Both are very accurate. Probably favor the 6CM for no specific reason, but maybe bullet choices.

Unless you like waiting, you could have it much sooner. Consider SPR (barrels in stock) and a prefit. Set the headspace to exactly what you want.

I have both a 6.5 CM and a 6 CM. I put the 6CM together with a prefit shouldered Krieger and a Bighorn Origin action. I've heard many say the barrel will go around 1,200-1500 rounds. Therefore, I wanted something that 1) ammo could be bought off the shelf if desired 2) I could replace the barrel with a shouldered prefit without sending my action action and with not having to remove scope/rings/rail. I can't do that with a barrel and a nut.

Lastly, the 6XC is really appealing. I didn't go that route due to no factory ammo and the specs being modified over time with a 6XCII by others, etc. If going this route, go exactly with Tubb's recommendation and know your chamber reamer dimensions and how it relates to brass being used. I wouldn't deviate on anything he mentions. He perfected the cartridge and has shot a few rounds.

Nick just a thought, How about a 30BR, plenty accurate very good barrel life and will give you something to do forming all those cases ( winter job).
Or try the 30x47 same thing good barrel life and plenty to do over winter.
Try the SR BR stuff you would be amazed how accurate it is, once tuned you will get bored again.
But if you insist on 6mm go with the PPC, still probably the most accurate SR cartridge out there.

I may loan him a 30br I don’t have time to shoot. Just not sure he’ll like the recoil. I guess if he’s OK shooting a Creedmoor, he’ll be fine. He has a 6ppc. I never asked if he had a 6br.

I have a 6PPC and it is so accurate you get tired of shooting it. I am on my second barrel and just had a tuner put on it. Haven't shot it yet. This will be my first experience with a barrel tuner. Not sure I even know what to do with it.

The 30BR is interesting. I have seen articles that state it will shot up to 10,000 rounds before barrel replacement. This is intriguing as I tend to shoot a lot of rounds when I go to the range. If I were to go with this cartridge I would probably just have the bolt face opened, change barrels in my 6PPC and switch barrels between the two calibers, which can be done in minutes. This is a Stole/Panda action that was built about 1996 and I really like it. As for the forming, I would just ship the cases to BJ and have him do them. To me, the drawback is I have a fetish about screwing with something that works. The 6PPC shoots really well. I hate to disturb it in any way.

Josh, I just saw your last post. That is a very kind offer. As for recoil, I doubt it is as hardy as the Creedmoor.

There are so many choices out there that it makes my head ache. Yesterday was my 85th birthday and I need to buy myself a new present.

Happy Birthday Nick, that had to be a special one!

Well Nick, you may have some options. I had some barrels spun up for my Kodiak by Bob. I have a brand new 30 br barrel leaning in a corner. I think I also have a new 6br barrel, too. They should fit your Panda. Leave your boltface alone and have some brass rims rebated.
Happy Birthday!!!
Edit: Somewhere in my stash I have a lightly used 6x47 Panda barrel, brass and dies.

Just picked up a used 6 CM, I was curious because of some of the comments I’ve seen about it being easy to tune and accurate. It certainly shoots small, load development took one afternoon. I have several 6mm caliber rifles and I have no regrets. Easy cartridge to load for.

Nick I'm pretty sure some of the Panda bolts will handle both the ppc and the 30 cal, call and check about yours. If it doesn't have yours converted to handle both.
