To answer your question. Go with the 6mm creedmoor. Same brass, a set of FL bushing dies, with proper bushing, will allow you to reload both, and there are good 6mm bullets around.
Powder choice will run about the same also. The 6mm CM is a fine shooting cartridge and will do what you want.

I have a 6.5 Creedmoor which I really like. I reload for it and shoot it really well, sub 1/2" MOA groups at 100 yards and no problems hitting an 8" steel target at 500 yards. I was thinking about adding a different long range caliber and am contemplating a 6.0 Creedmoor and a 6.5 PRC. I realize they aren't similar, but no matter which one I choose, I end up with two rifles with two different shooting characteristics. Which one would you choose?

With the possibility to go to a mile, 6.5 PRC all the way.

Run the ballistics.

It can/will stay super sonic to 2000 yards, with decent barrel life, and not beat you up doing it.

I said that just due to recoil. All will kill, but 6.5 prc has more recoil than 6cm. Thats why i said if just target shooting I'd pick 6cm

It is noticeable. I have brakes on both. I'd put my 10 year old daughter behind the 6.5 creedmoor but not behind the prc. My prc is 6.7lbs without scope so that does play a factor. Its strictly for hunting.

Thanks. I have a 6.5 Creedmoor with aluminum chassis and with scope it weighs 12.38 lbs. There's hardly any recoil. I'd get a similar setup in 6.5 PRC. I'm leaning that way just because of the extra reach over a 6 MM Creedmoor. At first I'd was leaning 6MM, but I don't think that'd give me anything I don't already have.
