USPS Complaint Thread

Forum member hands over a small USPS 'Flat Rate' Priority Mail box to his local Post Office in SC on Mar 1st. Tracking shows delivery expected to me in central Texas on March 4th.
On March 5, tracking shows it's "in transit".
On March 11, tracking shows it's in Memphis, TN.
On March 12, it's in Southaven MS, then off to Irving, TX. (252 miles north of my town)
On March 13, it's now in El Paso, TX. (531 miles west of my town)
Next week, I'm guessing that it will come back to Austin, and then finally get to my place. So, at soonest, it will be 14 days transit. When I asked why at my local PO, they shrugged and said "who knows".
The new normal is an earthenware vessel of excrement.

I thought anything that could go bang was not allowed to be mailed, They even ask you and make you check a box?
Through USPS no, UPS okay. I told UPS I had primed brass and the clerk said just put it in the comment section.

I've noticed that a lot of the packages that are being lost or sloooow
shipping are the ones that have insurance or Priority Mail.
By the way, Priority Mail is not guaranteed.
Or when you pay the premium, it goes slower that just an envelope.
The first class mail (envelope) seems to have better luck than paying extra
I payed the "extra" for Priority Mail and it made it 90 miles and has set for 10 days now.
Might just cancel the check that was in it and send UPS. Shouldn't have to send "mail"
by UPS just to make sure it makes it..

I wrapped the daylights out of my brass, inside a big baggie, bubble wrap, didn't make a sound. I didn't want this to happen to the buyer.

Who ever sent you that brass did a poor packing job by not reinforcing that flimsy USPS flat rate box. It appears to be taped well but not reinforced.

Yeah, I would have said something but the seller did me a big favor by splitting a large lot between me and another guy. Besides, I received more than I paid for! I’m happy it made it! No use in spreading bad juju around!

Bought a dog training collar on 13 March from a Mississippi retailer. Original delivery date was 19 March. Kept checking tracking # and as of this AM it was supposed to be here yesterday , but late. Well it is so "late" that tracking now tells me it's still in MS at USPS regional distrib. ctr in Jackson. USPS tracking is useless. As much as I hate (Yes to all the PC spies reading this -I said HATE) Amazon , they sure got an excellent delivery system. Had I ordered from Amazon I 'd be zapping Sparky now.

I don’t know about everyone else's experience with shipping and receiving but since this Covid 19 BULLSH1T kicked in all shipping has taken a royal dump. Think UPS, FedEx and the others are doing any better? Think again. I deal with inbound and outbound shipments daily. Paying for overnight or any other expedited delivery is a complete waste of money. Freight that normally ships in days is now taking weeks - sometimes months. Kid you not. The entire parcel industry has gone to the dogs.

Not my experience with Amazon. If you pick the right "sellers" shipping is free (over $25 total order from same warehouse) and delivery is in days -sometimes hours -not weeks. If they can do it with cheaper labor then somethings wrong with the traditional carriers. I don't see that Amazon drivers are dropping like flies with China virus. Lest we forget IT came from China. Not promoting the Amazon business model, just pointing out if they can deliver when promised- why can't others?
I ordered a new burner tube from Weber, they provided a FedEx tracking # which showed active for a day or so, then went dark. Box arrived a day or so later with a USPS tracking # on it. LOL. FedEx's "virtual assistant" is not very helpful either. LOL. Luckily I didn't have a great desire to grill out while waiting.
Another forum member and I have swapped scopes, we shipped on the same day and provided tracking #'s as agreed. Package coming to me is stuck somewhere in NY, estimated arrival was yesterday, LOL. His package shows "arriving" on time, which was yesterday but still in transit.
