It is against PayPal’s policies to use their service to buy/sell guns. And don‘t you get around that by using “Friends and Family“. That is even worse.

We use PayPal for our membership system — there is no other service which integrates with the Forum software. None. That‘s why this matters.

Remember it is 100% against PayPal’s rules to use their service to take payment for a gun. If you do so the money the seller sends could be locked up. And your PayPal account could be shut down.

I banned a member this evening for requiring PayPal friends and family payment for an AR15 he was attempting to sell.

IMHO, none!

FORUM BOSS: If you are authorized to receive credit card payments and your billing company allows, that may be an option. Otherwise, see list of electronic payment services posted below... pretty much they ALL forbid gun sales, and most, including PayPal, forbid ammo sales too.

Doesn't electronic banking have to have a acct # attached to it, what about when tha # gets hacked like what has happened to me twice.

I was banned from PayPal and all of my funds were seized because I sold a grip that could fit on an AR-15. Anyone who is still using PayPal for anything firearm related is doing so at their own peril. Everyone thinks they're going to get away with it but sometimes it doesn't have anything to do with you. Someone sent me a PayPal request saying I would like the AR-15 grip. I was immediately banned and my funds that were in my account were seized illegally and a note added that said that the contents of my account were seized for violations of terms of agreement.

If it's a small amount, like $100 or less, I just send cash. If one of our members needs the money bad enough to cheat me, I just won't do business with them any longer. No I am not rich, but the Government steals much more than that every month and I still live here.

According to GunTab, all the major electronic Payment systems prohibit firearm sales, and most (including PayPal) forbid ammo sales too. Our primary concern is PayPal because it is vital to our membership system.

My funds got locked up for a month by PayPal once. I was getting out of the metal detecting hobby and I had 9 machines to sell. I was using Friends and Family. They caught up with me, somehow. Lesson learned. Now I just automatically include the surcharge in the funds I sent and haven't had a problem in over 5 years.

I do not and will not use these electronic services, If that means a lost sale or an item I can not buy so be it.

I think for the most part everyone on this site is trustworthy enough (or they don't last long) to take or send a check, The hassle of a money order is an greater inconvenience, But better than loosing money to some far away invisible tyrannical banker, .......Who may be just trying to be PC, ....... I know better than that.

People don't need to remove their PayPal accounts. But just don't take gun/ammo payments using the PayPal system ever.
