Regarding the newly banned member, I would like to quote or closely paraphrase the great John Wayne “you can’t fix stupid”Its been said over and over and over, I get you may not know if your a new member and are getting the feel of things. Arguing the point when the forum clearly has stated it’s position on the matter isn’t the brightest move if you intend be here long.
I just don't get it. How could anyone in today's world think that they could determine their own level of risk?. We have rules and we must abide by them no matter what we think of them or how they might affect us. What is this? Anarchy? There can be no place for rule breakers in this world.
I'm going to say one reason might be that if "IF YOUR RISK" turns bad, guess who is going to hear about it?What? Why couldn't I determine my own level of risk? When it comes to my risk, I don't put that in anyone else's hands... it's my risk
I can respect and follow rules (which I do), but my risks are mine.
If it puts the site at risk, I'm all for respecting and following the site's rules.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong... just saying it's MY risk. just like any other post, readers can ignore and move on .. no need to get involved.... I don't take risks and then whine about them. Some might and they're easy enough to ignore.I'm going to say one reason might be that if "IF YOUR RISK" turns bad, guess who is going to hear about it?
Hmmm ok. I don’t know about him or his ip addresses. But thanks for all you do on here for usDon’t know the reason but my cousin created an account on here and got blocked instantly for spam ?
Forum Boss: I personally background check every new signup. There is a database which lists email addresses, account names, and IP addresses which have been flagged as used by scammers or spammers. In the case of your cousin I suspect he was connecting with a disfavored IP or not listing a verifiable name and city.
I spend over 500 hours a year on background checks and we pay for access to multiple databases. 5-10% of all registrations are rejected for security reasons.
Ditto here on using PayPal. They are anti-gun and I choose not to support them. However it is their business whether they allow guns and ammo purchases and they don't. So I abide by their rules by simply NOT USING THEM. I joined this forum a few years ago, first as a silver then gold supporter. I do that to support a fine internet venue of shooters and firearms owners, and to establish a trading reputation that I hope is bullet proof.I thought about it in the days when PayPal first came out and decided that I would not (and I do not) use electronic pay services. If someone requires an electronic service, I don't buy what they are serving. I have used an escrow service and it was a very nice experience - both the buyer and myself were protected.
Agree.I wouldn’t be surprised if as much, if not more time, is spent behind the scenes by Forum Boss, policing problems and PM’s concerning the classifieds, as political threads and comments.
One good reason to help him out by following his rules.
Idiots what did they think was gonna happen ?Kinda reminds me of a story. Some 20 something kids asked my game warden friend if they could hunt the game warden's personal land. My friend thanked them for asking but said NO as he was going to be hunting his property the following weekend. The kids hunted is land anyway. You guessed it and was caught by my friend the game warden. He said he wrote tickets until he was out of paper.
Similar deal No means No.
