With today's mobile banking technology, a personal check is probably the best way. I can deposit it and within 2 days I know it if it is good or not (and I have the money).

That is my preferred method going forward.
My preferred method as well. I will send a check. Hold until it clears to ship. I really don't want to go to the PO and get a USPS MO, which are limited to $1k anyway. I know some members won't take any payment except USPS MO's, which is certainly their right to do. When selling, I prefer a check as I can deposit it via phone in seconds and move on with life.

While I respect a Seller's payment preference, I NEVER buy from anyone that only accepts a USPS MO.
Not worth my time to go stand in line to get one.

As far as PayPal, I never use it for firearms.

Comes down to their choice and my choice with no hard feelings either way.

It is my understanding that when a bank makes funds available for withdrawal from the deposit of a check; they are actually making sure you have enough money in your account to cover the amount if it is returned NSF. If you receive funds via check from an unknown source, it is recommended to wait thirty days before using those funds.

Even after thirty days your bank is obligated to return the funds if the payer claims that the check was fraudulent. Unless you are familiar with the source, any check is a possible source of fraud.

Anyone interested in developing a gun friendly bank, incorporate an electronic money transfer system, CC offering, etc??? Let’s do this.

If a a person knew how to navigate the countless federal banking regulations and make this happen, they'd never have to work another day in their life.

Personal checks from paid members from here on out. Postal money orders CANNOT become the go-to. Not only are they one of the most forged instruments out there, dealing with the post office for ANYTHING is never a good answer. There are tons of people, including myself, with horror stories about dealing with the post office to get issues sorted out (mostly issues the post office created by failing to get the money order from Point A to Point B).

The PayPal link works fine. In any event, here is the applicable policy. Unfortunately, there is no clear answer about unnamed "certain firearms parts" under part (j):

Just so people get the message, if you attempt to sell a firearm using PayPal to collect the money, whether here or on another Forum, you run the risk that PayPal will lock your account and confiscate the money.

Got that?

There is the GunTab service and you can also request a Money Order.
Note: We do NOT endorse guntab as we have not used it. But it is something that you can research on your own.
