That Sportsman's Warehouse sold over 100,000 primers in one day. The Scheels in Billings had 250,000 primers show Monday. I had friends from Cody, WY making the drive after work to get their 1000. They're being produced and are available....you just need to be fast, drop everything and get them.I live in the same town as you. Which LGS do you think is in trouble? IF you could get this done HOW would the product be distributed to those you think need it? How do you know where the primers are going? One of the stores here had primers a couple weeks ago and Sportsmans in BZN had primers last Friday so some are being shipped.
Exactly. But how to make it happen? I would pay a very stiff premium for components (not CTD or GB) at my local LGS. How can we as a demographic steer or divert product? In the aerospace game we used the concept of “manufacturing days”. Weekend days were not included as those were used to “catch up on the schedule.
there were about 260 of these days per year. So, if reloaders are 5% of the market you can cover that market by working in an extra 12 days. Voluntary overtime can cover that. Since we pay a “premium” for primers already, it is lost in the price.
but I also think that the reloading market is bigger than that.
The current Politburo would never approve the importation.Well, we could go to S&B or Magtech and ask what 50,000,000 primers shipped to the USA would cost. Then obtain a permit from ATF and State to import them.
if they were to ultimately cost $150 per 5000, that only $1.5 million. We could probably do that. Hell Reddit took down a hedge fund or two.
Not a beef. I am actually collecting ideas to see if there is a way to convince manufacturers to support LGS vendors and still satisfy volume. I personally would pay quite a bit more for primers and powder and brass and so forth at my LGS. What price point makes that balance, and how can we affect distribution? Not this shit again. Let's keep it to one thread that enumerates all the beefs people have with component providers.

Instead of just bitching about it.
Yours might not and that's good for them, I haven't received a single primer from any of my wholesaleMust be only in certain locales. The three LGS I shop are doing a land office business in handguns and ARs. Of the three, two require appointments and have ammo, powder and bullets. NICS are at 4.3 million for January, highest on record for a single month. I don't see my LGSs going out of business anytime soon.

FBI's January gun background check statistics show people buying firearms at 'blistering pace,' expert says
The FBI conducted more than 4.3 million gun background checks in January 2021 – the highest number of checks completed during a single month in the agency’s recorded history – as one expert says the staggering figure indicates a "growing" demand for firearms from the American public.www.foxnews.com

Dan, No primers anywhere but dribs and drabs of ammo, powder and bullets.Yours might not and that's good for them, I haven't received a single primer from any of my wholesale
people for three months. Hell, they won't even let me know if they have any, and don't tell me to change
people it don't work.
I wouldn't get rid of the powder and primers. They should never lose their value and there will always be a market for them. Better than currency if you keep them stored properly.Talking with another member today on the phone, I believe we're both gonna blow the dust off our archery gear.
Thinking about selling 2 out of 3 press's and stock of powder n primer
