A car or girl magnet?I bought a Triumph GT6+ in 1970. Six cylinder, looked like a little XKE. The + was for the electric over drive. Girl magnet! Wish it still had it!

I remember baling hay in the hills of Jordan township. 88 Oliver, wide front end. 77 New Holland baler powered with an air cooled Wisconsin engine that was very temperamental to get started .One day dad was spinning the crank fast as he could and the engines comes to life with the crank stuck on the engine. I watched dad run back to get away from it and then cautiously sneak back up to it to shut the engine off. I was too young to reach the pedals on that tractor and the heavy combination of the New Holland baler with a wagon load of hay attached would sometimes shove me everyway but straight in those hills. Suffice it to say that I could drive anything with wheels on it at an early age. Oh the good old days.I remember bailing hay when I was 7 years old with a 1939 Oliver 70 and a New Holland bailer that was 70 years ago..... today they are still have someone wiping their nose...... jim
I bought the "goat" when I was 16, in late 1973. I'm 63 now. I still love the big Detroit iron muscle cars. For my 60th b'day, I got a new 2017 Challenger. It's the Scat Pack model. With 392 Hemi, Shaker Hood, 489 HP, 6 speed tranny. Fun as he'll to drive.Popcharlie you must have bought your GTO late in life.
When I had my 64 Fury gas was 15-20 cents/gal., then I bought a 69 SS Chevelle in 1970 gas was low to mid 20's.
I remember when I was 13, I went to the hardware store a bought a box of 50 22lr for 50 cents. $4.95 got you a box of 500. I bought them, not my dad, me.
I also remember when I used to get premium gas in my 1969 GTO for 38 cents a gallon. Regular was 28.

At the Western Auto store in Bellefonte, Pa., they would supply you with the paper bag ! !I remember 4831 was 50 cents a lb. but you had to have your own paper bag...... jim
"Common sense" sometimes it 'all to common'!!!Oppsssss... for 25 cents pair
Adjusted for inflation, gasoline is cheaper now, in central Texas.I remember when I was 13, I went to the hardware store a bought a box of 50 22lr for 50 cents. $4.95 got you a box of 500. I bought them, not my dad, me.

I'm with you on the Pick up trucks. I love mine, can't be without one. I have a Ram 1500. It's a '13, only 68k miles on it. It's my daily driver. I retired in '18, so I don't drive to work anymore.Popcharlie, I bought the Chevelle and quickly realized what a mistake, Car spent more time at the dealers being repaired than me driving it. I kept it 3 years ( no lemon laws then), traded it in on a F100, car plus $800 and I've been driving Ford pick ups ever since.
My toy is a 2003 Harley Electra Glide Classic FIRE FIGHTERS EDITION 100th anniversary special edition but since my knees let go it sits in the garage unused for the past 12 years, 9000 miles on odometer.
If I could buy a new Ford Ranger with the equipment I want I would trade both my 08 F150 and Harley in on one.
I still have my Remington Nylon 66.I remember when my first 22, a Remington Nylon 66 auto cost me $49.00 (6months of saved lunch money) and a box of shells was $0.39 at my local gas station/sporting goods store.
Mine was a vanilla model. 400 v8, but auto trans, no tach...very basic, but still a lot of balls. Doing 30 or so mph, I could shift down to S on the auto trans and stand on it. The tires would lite up and the car would fishtale.@PopCharlie Owned 3 GTO's myself. Two were 69's , one with a 400 4 speed and the other was a 400 Ram Air IV with a 4 speed. Beast The other was a 71 with a 400 cid and turbo 400 . Great cars.
