In the early to mid-70s I took my shotgun to HS, behind the seat in my unlocked P/U, my best friend did the same, and we'd hit the slough after school for some afternoon waterfowl.I can remember, in Jr High; four of us farm kids taking shotguns and 22's to school and leaving them in the Principals Office. After school, we got them and went rabbit and bird hunting. Imagine four 12 year olds doing that today...?
