Primer unavailability and competition shooting

Thanks for sharing this... I'm thinking about selling my 5.56 stuff only because I have primer, brass and bullets, but can't find powder.
Maybe we should meet somewhere. I have cases and all the powder you need, but no primers. We could swap powder for primers? The stores here still have plenty of powder.

There are some places taking Back Orders on Powder ( not Varget ).
This is a hopeful sign ? Norma and others are getting Powder out to locations !
We may have to all drive Fords for a while to get the job done ?
I shot F/Class and Long Range Matches . I miss my BMW Powder and Primers :mad: .

I can say this it is good to have Friends ! Why ?
There are small pockets of Powder and Primers out there in odd places.

Lets all hope things get turned right side up soon ?

The Virus and Supplies have Match Turn Out at Low Numbers .

Best to All,
Don

Russia was banned from selling guns and components and so was Norinco. I have no doubt at all that american companies were involved in getting the govt to crush their competition and even to crush any small american company that tried to start making ammo. this is the fake capitalism we have.
Norinco would deliver billions of primers a day to the US if they were not banned. also their guns were excellent.
what makes me laugh is guys knocking foreign products by puking out I only buy made in america. OK have at it with your empty shelves

I was offered $120 for 2k small pistol primers last night. I declined saying "nope, trade only". There's no guarantee I'll be able to find the rifle primers needed in their place.

Anyone who has been a competitive shooter for more the a few years should be aware to stay a minimum of a full year ahead . Speaking of practice, by far the best practice is shooting matches. Shoot every local match you can if you have a desire to be competitive. While at these matches pay attention to what the folks who are consistently at and near the top are doing. Develops a load in good conditions, practice in less than ideal conditions.

I started shooting skeet right before this crap happened... Until last month I didn't effect me.... Now we can't even get shotgun primers.... Who actually reloads shotgun unless you want great quality shells , you definitely aren't doing it to save money... You can buy those shells as cheap or cheaper than loading them , not to mention the time...

I took the time to look online a few days ago... Primers being scalped for $200 a thousand.... 9mm bulk 1000 round packs at $850 and .22lr at $150 a brick... There's no shortage but there's a bunch of asshats buying up everything and putting it on GunBroker at those prices...

shotgun primers are still pretty available around here. I load my shotgun shells all the time and shoot 100 every week. It is harder to buy loaded shotgun shell than components here.

I think internet and retail outlets may and should limit sales to 1,000 or at most 2,000 primers to any one customer over a certain time period, say 1 month. I know it would require record keeping and time for them to do it but otherwise we face a very uncertain future. Remington will reenter the market and our situation may attract foreign makers to enter our market big time if they can get a distribution network set up.
Our store limits srp and spp to 200 each customer

Been looking for a while at various reloading component retailers and it appears to that most everything is gone. Take brief look at Precision Reloading an advertiser here. "Sold Out" is the most common feature for just about any components. Have not looked at Gun Broker, but will be sending friends there. Been telling these guys for years to up their inventories, now have had several people ask me to sell them things. I'm really torn about reselling. Don't consider myself a hoarded or a person looking profit from the misery of others. History told me this would happen again. Can't believe it would take only 4 years. Past two trips to the range, every bench was in use. For years had the range to myself, maybe 1 or 2 friends.

By now every one should know to have at least a year supply on hand.
Its an election year. This is not the the first or second time. You couldnt give
an AR away in febuary, 9 mm was 160 per thousand. Everything but Retumbo
was readily available. If you didn't buy the primers you needed at 35 - 40 a thousand
you can wait 8 months or pay the price the prepared are willing to sell at.

I see some of you say you are limited on primer purchases.... There has been zero SP/SR or anything here in central Texas for months... On shipment days my local academy sells out of ammo in 15 minutes now.. I can't even find bullets , .223 or Berry's 9mm local or within 50 miles anymore.... The shelves are bare and it's been that way for months...

Harris will use executive order(if law can't pass through house and Senate) to put a tax on all NFA items, an expanded supreme court will up hold the order as the the government can tax without constitutional infringement(only reason Obama care made it pass the supreme court, they ruled it a tax-remember Barack said it isn't a tax and you can keep you doctor and your plan. The plan for the world (great reset) is no private property/gun ownership by 2030, John Kerry even commented that democrats need to take advantage of current circumstances if they want to "fundamentally change America". To a democrat fca means do away with the bill of rights, hopefully you know what the bill of rights are. In Europe properties and guns (healthcare) were usually taxed into government control, sound familiar.

These are 'sanctions' placed on Russia and China for their bad behavior, like meddling with elections, unfair trade practices and stealing American technology, placing tarrifs on American made goods, amongst a lot of other things. Which would you rather have, the bad things Russia and China do to the US of A that hurt us all, or primers and Chinese made guns? It ain't my problem if you didn't plan ahead!
