How do I "capture/download" a message?

There are several messages on forums that I would like to "capture/download" to my system. How do I do that??

Thanks for your help,

Steve Nicholas

Do a google search on how to do a screenshot for your particular op system. I use a tool thats on your windows system called “snipping tool”. Just type snip in the search bar on your toolbar down by the windows symbol

I think what the OP is referring to is that in some (possibly older) forum software, there was an option to download - literally download, not take screen shots - sort of a message digest, in a spreadsheet-like format.

I haven't done anything like that in quite a few years, and I don't see anything like that readily accessible in the current forum software here, so they might be SOL.

Next question is what browser do you use?

Here's the eight most popular:
  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Opera
  • Chromium
  • Vivaldi
  • Torch Browser
  • Internet Explorer

Also need to know what you want to save.

Are you happy with just the text or would you like pictures, etc. also?

Highlight the text. Hit Ctrl P keys and save it to Windows 10 One Note. You can then access it from anywhere.

Files/photos can be inserted from phone, camera or online.

There is more than one way to do this and which you prefer depends on how you intend on using them:

I simply like to seclect what I want and copy and paste to my Microsoft Word app and save the file either as a Word, Text or PDF file.

Function - Print Screen (Fn + Prt Scr) will give you a Pic file and then you can crop the pic to only show what you want. Zoom in to fill your computer screen with only what you want can help with the sizing of the pic

You can select what you want to capture then Right Click and select Print where you can save what you selected as a PDF file using Microsoft Print to PDF function or choose some other options (attached is an example is what you can get from this procedure).

Easiest way is this, upper right corner of the post, hit the share icon (three dot triangle) and email it to yourself. Then you can cut and paste it to any format, Word, Libre Office, One Note, etc.

I tried this function and it works great..... Thanks,

I have MS Office, or whatever they call it this week, has calendar, email, tasks, notes, contacts, etc. I use the calendar function by opening up a time slot, and it has room for lots of notes, etc. I copy & paste bits and pieces of load data or other info to the notes section of the appt time slot for whatever project I've got. I can even copy/paste a link to a particular thread if it's a long one but interesting, etc.
