6 PPC barrel life?
Im sure you could but if you cant win why even try? Its like shooting off the shelf bullets and staying in mid pack- but man youre saving money right?Hey Dusty, if you shoot reduced loads, say around 27grs of N133 with the 64 to 68gr class of bullets and no rapid fire, can you expect a significant increase beyond the 1500 rds of best performance?

Probably 2000+ then. Itll still shoot real well just not at a matchi should have clarified, i am not shooting competition with the PPC. just shooting for fun and profit.(negative profit)

Maybe 10 yrs or so ago the winner of the Super Shoot was asked that in an interview. Is answer I think was the brass he shoot with had around 100 loadings. If you anneal, as long as your primer pockets don't leak, keep shooting it. The gentleman's name escapes me but I think he was a school teacher from Eastern Pa. The interview was in Precision Shooting. Lot of myths and thoughts in this game with no black and white proof. Best thing is do what gives you the results your looking for.example., do you need to sort custom bullets for 100 200 yd benchrest. Probably not. If your going to shoot past 300 yds with the same set up you might want to be sure you don't send an odd bullet down to your 500 yd target. Just might make an x a 10. Could cost you a match. Those of you shooting in competitions, how many firings on your brass
before it goes? (6ppc) close estimation

Man not competing you can run a ppc barrel forever. Ive sent some of my wore out br barrels with prairie dog shooters and get em back after a couple thou rounds and they would still outshoot most rifles. Cant find the lands but they still shoot real goodWalt, thanks, well aware of the consumabilty of barrels. barrel i now have shoots great. just want to extend it's life as much as possible with excellent, but not necessarily match wining precision, since I DON"T COMPETE WITH THIS RIFLE.

For what purpose?
I whole heartedly agree. I tell new shooters to buy a used bench gun of known origin and shoot it the way it is for a year. They will learn the ropes and in a PPC or 6br format it will be the most accurate rifle they ever shot no matter how many rounds are down the barrel. Get a new barrel to start the second year and your good to go. Lot of good PPCs around, some with multiple barrels selling for less than you could buy the components even without the gunsmithing fees.Man not competing you can run a ppc barrel forever.
