I whole heartedly agree. I tell new shooters to buy a used bench gun of known origin and shoot it the way it is for a year. They will learn the ropes and in a PPC or 6br format it will be the most accurate rifle they ever shot no matter how many rounds are down the barrel. Get a new barrel to start the second year and your good to go. Lot of good PPCs around, some with multiple barrels selling for less than you could buy the components even without the gunsmithing fees.
I bought a Panda PPC a few years ago with all the dies brass, bullets and two extra barrels for a very good price. I converted it to a 6 BRA. Just lately I bought another Panda 6 PPC with a NF scope and all the stuff to
go with it. The rifle it self did not cost me any more than the first one, and it is a very good rifle. Even if one of the three extra barrels is shot out, I can use it to FF. Pandas are available and reasonably priced (some times), you just have to keep looking. I shoot only club matches. So having the newest and best is not necessary for me, and I can still hold my own, if I do my part. JEFFPPC is right, start out and learn about the game your shooting before going into whole hog.
