Massive gun prohibitions today in Canada

As a natural-born Canadian (and US citizen), and after reading all the above posts, I'll just add that I left my dear homeland in BC in 1975 to return to the U.S. and enjoy my dual citizenship, as these are the exact reasons I left Canada.....absolutely no representation in government, draconian gun laws including no handguns.

I decided just to NOT put up with the crap they were dreaming up then, and it's even worse now. So I packed up and left, period. I could not use any of my US veteran benefits there, so that was yet another reason to bail. I've never looked back, especially when I open my safe and gaze upon my rifle and handgun collection that would not be able to exist if I had stayed in Canada.

Wake up Canadians!

A friend of mine has dual citizenship as well, as much as I love to bust his balls about it, he knows how jealous I am! Good for you, I fully understand your position and am quite envious.

My brother in law moved to North Dakota about 15 years ago, became a US citizen years ago and is very happy with his decision as well.

The war on our 2nd amendment is bad, but that is only the tip of the iceberg. The real assault is on LIBERTY. For me the bottom line on liberty is right to try in life and by trying, you may FAIL. Spent my life in the specialty machine shop of a Fortune 500 company and was able to see people mess up their lives on a daily bases. More than drugs and alcohol, many people were foolish with their money. Was always interesting to watch the choices many of my fellow workers made. Me, I lived in a modest house, drove older cars, many times did with out or made choices. My wife and I saved our money and rose in our careers with hard work. We raised our sons and had what I would call a happy life. Don't get me wrong, there were failures, but on balance things went well. I retired at 55 and my wife's career blossomed. Today we have the option of making choices. Not against helping others in their time of need. I do expect these same people to attempt to help themselves also. The nanny state, in its misguided attempt to prevent peoples failure guarantee all our failures. Our gun rights are only a step on a short path to doom.

Very many more mass shootings in the states and we will be next. Lots of people on the fence and Canada just stepped up the game. A few people I have talked to about it said they would consider the same thing ok here in the states if it came down to it. These are older people in our shooting club that have been to war and have been around guns their whole life but would approve banning automatic rifles. I think the damage and the fallout is trickling down and when it tips the pot were in trouble.

I believe our fore fathers would already be shooting

That is what is called a democracy (Mob Rules) meaning if the whole country wanted less gun laws them mob rules. In a constitutional republic we have the electoral college which governs votes so everyone has the same clout. Here in the states most call us a democracy which is a misnomer at best. The electoral college system stops what is happening to your country.

Possibly not for long. As people move from California to Texas, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana and bring their politics with them, those states are on the verge of flipping. As people move from New York and New Jersey to Virginia, the Carolina's and Florida those states are on the verge of flipping. What is really needed is to have the electoral college extended down to the county level. Until that happens, Seattle will rule WA, Portland will rule OR, large cities will rule CA, IL, NY and so the domino's fall.

That aside, the left is trying to eliminate the electoral college. I don't think they realize that the only reason we have a union is because of the electoral college. No one wanted the union to be ruled by New York at the founding of the country and the electoral college was the solution. If they are successful in eliminating the electoral college then the union is dissolved.

There are simple things Canadians can do to voice their opposition. Take your law enforcement officers for example. If they have children, make sure yours have nothing to do with them. If you run a restaurant, serve them cold coffee and ask them politely to take their business elsewhere. If you're a plumber and you get a call from someone that you think may work for the government, tell them you are busy. Same with mechanics. Let them fix their own cars! Do the same with any other government employees that you may know or run across. Make life as miserable for them as they have done to you. Some may say that they did nothing wrong and they are innocent. Well, you didn't do anything wrong either but the system they work for had no problem taking away your liberties now, did they? Let it be known that if you work (support) the regime, there is a cost involved. :D

In Canada we also have a similar system to your electoral collage. The problem is, every time Liberals are given power they split big city liberal ridings so the next election they have more ridings voted in.

Funny thing is the retard at the helm Retradeau, in his 2015 election campaign promised to reform the election system. And if he would of done so, we would not have him re-elected again because in the 2019 election the Conservatives received more votes.

I would like to know how they even got the name Canada ? What did they do, put the letters of the alphabet in a hat and start pulling them out ? C, ayh- n, ayh d, ayh.

Proof that Canada sucks like California:

By axiom of identity

CA = CA [equation 1]

Under ISO 3166 ALPHA-2 designation

Canada = CA

By symmetry

CA = Canada

By substitution on the left hand side of equation 1 above

Canada = CA [equation 2]

But by US postal state code

California = CA

By symmetry

CA = California

By substitution on the right hand side of equation 2

Canada = California [equation 3]

Therefore, Canada sucks like California.

QED
Apparently now it sucks much worse!

I have a bear hunting trip to Manitoba booked for mid June, which was already on the bubble because of this covid crap.

It’s even more unlikely now consider I had planned to use my M67 90mm recoilless rifle

No wonder we have a black eye. People like you bear "hunting" w that 90mm, forest fire starting behemoth.........Everyone knows a knee mortar is more than enough!!! Even though, it does ruin the backstraps. :p:rolleyes::D

Seems like Trudeau, with his logic, on banning semi-auto/assault rifles because this criminal, impersonating a police officer went on a crime spree with handguns and fire, should have included Matches, as 40 % of the people he killed burned too death. Sad that Canada's PM is so much like the dictator's we have in the USA, now days, when it come to firearms.
