Corona Boredom

Started on the gun range yesterday . There is a perfect place down by the creek for a 50 yard range. Lots of shade in kind of a low spot with a natural berm on the target end. I tore down the old barn and the old trailer that was here and salvaged the lumber and poles.I had some metal left over from the shop building so got started putting it all together yesterday. Poles are all in and the sides finished ready for rafters and stringers.Picture 001.jpg Picture 002.jpg Picture 003.jpg

Great setting!

I've designed and built a number of shooting 'sheds' and covered decks, some even elevated. The usual pine lumber or pressure treated lumber gets to be a little boring after a while, in my opinion.

Your choice of recycle poles and lumber makes for a very comfortable looking design, worn but still sturdy and very usable. It also fits the landscape perfectly!

Excellent idea and follow through.

Nice job! Great project! From the pics it looks like a nice place!;)
Me, I would have cut thru that hedgerow and gone for 100.
I miss my farm. It was only 80 acres, but pure joy to be on!

Dang, Very nice. I especially like the idea of re purposed posts and siding. I must say though, those posts look like beasts I bet they were a handfull to get into place, even with help.

Nice Job!!

well the shooting shed is finished except for a load of screenings for the inside and perimeter to make it easier to find the brass and to spot snakes. I had a window left over from my shop bldg so I put that in the back to let a little air in . There is a hole in the tin on the left side so the air can get out. I'll probably put some sort of screen in over it. The wildlife doesn't care much for it though there was a big pile of coyote crap in front of it this morning.Picture 004.jpg Picture 005.jpg Picture 007.jpg

That needs a bit of insulation and a wood stove for cold weather use.
Put a front on it with prop open windows to shoot out of.

Well I do have an endless supply of firewood and a fire ring but I pretty much don't go out when it's cold. I have a heated shop. There is always something that needs built or rebuilt.Plus I can shoot out the window of the shop out to 50 yds. Phase 2 will be a small cabin 50 yds up the creek so I can get rid of the rest of the lumber and tin. I have a golf cart heater for it . I need to find a couple of small windows that I can open to shoot out of. I'll get that coyote that crapped in front of the shooting shed.
