I shot my railgun one time with a bigger capacity case in it and a faster twist barrel and got some horrible groups. Maybe they need a little vibration dampening

Its not that its the top rocking on the delrin balls. I put lead shot on my base too.One of our locals, has several bags of either heavy sand or lead shot he puts on the rail to work its magic..... can’t argue with his results.

I wouldn't be sure about that....Its not that its the top rocking on the delrin balls. I put lead shot on my base too.

The rail gun’s advantage is not having to worry about that white patch. When it moves in your scope its actually not moving so even though it may shift if you dont chase it then youll still hit the correct spotThe PPC, or whatever caliber you shoot was designed to shoot at short range where one can see the hits. They are extremely accurate but again they have the ability to see hits and move to a siter target to make corrections, and watch wind flags. They are by far the best at reading conditions. At 1000yds that all goes away. They would be forced to chase that bouncing white patch. Most are chambered in calibers which are not competitive at long range. They have to chase the spotter just like every one else. Let them shoot.
SamI am all into seeing how this works out! I remember talking with Stan Taylor years ago about trying rails in the IBS at 600 and 1000. We did not get past just talking about it. But, I thought it would be interesting when you take out more of the human element of gun handling. Isnt benchrest about finding the ultimate in accuracy? Also, there are fewer and fewer matches in short range BR for rail gun owners to shoot their rails. This would give the rail owners a chance to use them more! Samuel Hall
It would also give some s.r. shooters with a rail sitting around an easier way to give lr a try (its easier to buy a barrel then build a whole rifle)I am all into seeing how this works out! I think soLittle heavier bullet and torque of the faster twist?

https://theshooterscorner.com/benchrest-rifles/I'm looking for a used rail does anyone have one they would like to sell?
A one piece Bear rest, remove the bags and replace them with machined Delrin blocks to match your rails. Bam, a very good clone.
