Corona virus delivered to your door?

Only real issue is overwhelming health care facilities, this greatly reduces the ability to treat accidental injuries, chronic health issues(heart attacks,kidney dialysis,cancer treatments, etc). Remember high temps in individuals and shortness of breath are the main symptoms. That's why over 75 are so vulnerable. Wash your hands,cover your cough. Protect your family.
 
This may throw a monkey wrench into this tread, but my question is, why is everyone going into a panic of this virus, which has killed approx. 2000 people worldwide and the same panic has never took place with the common cold or flu, which they say kills on the average 26,000 to 30,000 people each year ?
And I also wonder what the politicians/governments are sneaking in and through on the people, by causing or diverting attention to the coronavirus ?

5,090 dead (so far)

It's only just getting started. Infections in many countries are growing more than 33% a day.

It's also sobering to realize that Italy, for example, has recorded 15,113 confirmed cases with 1,016 dead - 6.7%.

Children don't die from Corona-19...most don't even get it.
19 of the dead in Seattle were from one nursing home!
CDC: 80% of all Corona-19 cases world wide exhibit "mild flu-like" symptoms.

As Dr. Drew commented on the "Corona hysteria" yesterday. "I'm getting pissed"...Amen!
 
Most likely you'll get it. Most likely you'll be fine. Many won't be. Currently it is early days in the US - a mere 1,663 recorded cases and only 40 dead. 2.4%. Now imagine if the same number of people who get the flu get Covid 19 which is not at all unlikely given its transmission and symptom pattern. Do the math.

Better to just get it over with. Like the measles and mumps in the old days. Once you know one person with it, gather everyone else around and place them all in the same room. A few weeks later you'd have some good statistical info.

You do understand where and who the majority of those deaths occurred, correct? My wife is a a Nurse. Daily forms everyday before they clock in with who, what's, and where's. If any one answer is yes they do not get to work for a period of time.

All Trump fueled ? I did not know he could start this in China and spread so much into Italy. If anyone is spreading this panic it is the socialist democrats. But then again, for the last three years everything, around the world is Trump's doings, so many keep saying..funny how one man can create so much world wide on so many things.
 
The more research I do on this subject, I have come to the conclusion that there is something to worry about. The death rate for Corona is about.03 percent. Last years stats for the flu season shows that the death rate was about.02 percent.

Before thinking that the .001% rate is reasonable as compared to Corona, remember that the numbers are skewed because of the numbers of people who received a vaccine last year. At this time there is no vaccine available for Corona.

I used the wrong number for those contracting flu in the 2018 - 2019 season.

There were 35.5 million flue cases and 34,200 deaths. That would equate to a death rate of .001 death rate. I am sorry for the m misinformation.

How many remember the 2009-2010 H1N1 pandemic? US deaths = 12, 469, over 500 thousand deaths world wide, I dont recall this kind of panic, the difference? A President that the media liked, your chances of dying in a car accident today is about 1 in 77 but that doesn't stop any of us from driving, the media is trying to infect us with panic and panic will do much more harm to the country than this virus will ever do.
