Lets see those hunting rifles

The meat-grinder...77/22 Hornet heavy barrel, shortened to 20" & fore end cut down. I've taken everything that walks or crawls in the area with it. I bought it for prairie dogs in the mid to late 90s & its become one of my favorites for varmints & small game (have a reduced squirrel load that isn't too destructive). Its taken PDs, groundhogs, crows, fox, coyotes, squirrels & a pile of coons...

My DD(daily driver). A bunch of work went into the stock but have gotten pretty good at it..... for what it's worth?

15$ B&L scope sold for parts off evilbay that we went through/fixed. Dang good glass,3-9X40. Timney trigger @2lbs.

7-08 with 130g cast. A few loads, one with 4198 at a shake below 2k fps. The second is Varget @2500. Another is a 145g RCBS-SIL that requires right much work on the bullet itself but is a VG target load. All these are 3 shot cloverleaf loads @100. Anymore heat and the factory barrel starts to act up a bit. But cold bore,3 shot groups are spot on,P.O.A.

This was a month ago down on the river.

This is one of my favorites. I won a certificate for a Hart barrel at the NBRSA Hunter National in Kansas City one year and decided to use it for a .25 cal. hunting rifle following the model of Steve Timm's 'Walking' series of gun with the exception of the stock. It's a Short 700 ADL, Hart #2 @ 22" twisted 1:9, chambered in 250 Savage Ackley Improved, 40X trigger, McMillan Sako Hunter pattern stock, Leupold dual dovetails and a Weaver K6. Stan Ware @ SGR Custom Rifles did all the metal work.

With the Sierra 87 gr. SPT over H322, it's a superbly accurate deer rifle and a slick coyote calling rig. The Sierra 75's are pure poison on coyotes.

This time of year Im spending most of my free time tuning up my rifles for elk season. I think we need a good hunting rifle build thread to help guys get ideas. Post up some pictures, specs, targets, loads, and kills!

Right now it’s a stock Tikka T3X in .243 win. I’m running factory Winchester 80g sp but today I’ll be working a load nosler 90 BT even with the factory 80 Grains I was hitting at 550 yards with Vortex Viper PST 2nd focal plane and cheap bipod
