"Bore Tech" Carbon & Copper solutions

My friend 'jonbearman' introduced a topic on carbon cleaning techniques a short time back. In the responses,Bore Tech products were mentioned. Can anyone add anything, whether good,,,bad,, or ,,indifferent to the Bore Tech line of cleaners.
I feel a need to add to my array of cleaners I already use. Am I looking for magic? I suppose I am! The "eliminator", "C4 Carbon remover" , and the "CU+2 copper remover" caught my attention.

Been using the regular Bore Tech Eliminator on one 6BR barrel since new and now going on 1800 rounds and it works great so far and don't see a need to try anything else. Been waiting for the dreaded carbon ring to form but so far the barrel is shooting great.... actually as good as when new.

This is strictly anecdotal evidence and I have been waiting to borescope it when accuracy drops off but not holding my breath as this stuff cleans the barrel very thoroughly and without alot of work or waiting.

I run 4 wet patches.... then run a wet nylon brush in and out 10 times exiting the muzzle each time (using a Bore-rider nylon brush holder so no crown damage worries) then 2 more wet patches then 2 dry patches and clean as a whistle every time.

Sometimes if I get paranoid and much over 100 rounds between cleanings I will let the BTE soak for 10 minutes after the nylon brush scrub but honestly don't think it's needed and it still comes squeeky clean with the 2 final patches.

I luv this stuff and even though it cleans good it doesn't have that nasty ammonia smell and seems milder than alot of others I tried prior and my lungs really appreciate it too.

I like the C4 and Cu+2 better than straight Eliminator which is basically C4 and CU+2 mixed.
Full strenght I feel they work better than mixed. I've been using them for about 3.5 years now. They have worked very well for me. I used to guess I had my barrels clean but since I started scoping my barrels I'll tell you that the Bore Tech is doing a lot better job than the other cleaners I've used and seems to be giving me extended barrel life in my BR rifles. YMMV

I have had very similar results all their products are great I started with eliminator because it took care of carbon and copper but I had found the copper and carbon removers used separately work better remove the carbon first and the copper afterward

^^^agree completely. Routine cleaning gets the eliminator. Deeper cleans get the carbon first, then the copper remover second. Borescoping between steps shows the difference.

#9 is my go to.
Pro shot carbon remover works well cleaning necks. I would also think it's good for the barrel.

A friend of mine swears by this stuff and he shoots a lot especially 338 Lapua.. I have been too busy lately to shoot much but I use eliminator too I can’t say it’s magical since I have not had this much experience but lack of smell is a plus and I have used everything else under the moon (including my own Reds solution ) his patches come out blue as the sky for a while .... so it’s good stuff

All I use is eliminator, first the patches come out black and greenish then pure white.I think the first application cleans carbon and a second cleaning cleans copper.It has worked good for me with only using the eliminator

Switched about 2 years ago from Shooter's Choice to Bore Tech C4 and Cu+2 because the odor of Shooter's Choice was bothering my wife.

I was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of both products to remove carbon and copper. The reason I chose the two step process (i.e. C4 followed by Cu+2) was so I could use a bronze brush for carbon removal with C4 believing that the mechanical action of the bronze brush is more effective in removing carbon.

In addition, the two step process allows me to remove the carbon first then work directly on the copper with Cu+2. I'm completely satisfied with both products and will finish my shooting career with Bore Tech.

Another Bore Tech user here. I have tried numerous other cleaners but always seem to come back to Bore Tech.

Boretech are certainly very good products. But no matter what carbon remover you use, even when using a good stiff bronze brush you are only removing the loose carbon fouling. Your hard carbon slowly builds up to where your accuracy and your barrel will suffer if not using a paste every now and then. A bore scope will prove this to you.

FWIW -

After >50 years of trying various solvents, about three years ago I started using Bore Tech Eliminator, and occasionally their Carbon and their Copper remover. These are all I use now.

I did wonder about mixing the Carbon and Copper solvents, so I emailed Bore Tech in July 2017.
This was their reply:

"Alexander,
Thank you for contacting us.
We do NOT recommend mixing the carbon and copper remover together.
This will slow down both cleaners and they will become less effective.
The Eliminator is not just the carbon and copper mixed together.
It is actually quite a bit different.
Let us know if you have any additional questions or need anything else.

I'll have to try the Chameleon Gel, I usually just use the Carbon remover.
