sorry bout that it is a 223, edited postCade
Pertinent info - what's the caliber...204, 223, 22-250, etc?
3050+ averageRunning a 700 .223 with 26" bartlien 7.7 twist and Hornady 75 hpbt bullets in Lapua brass and 205m primers & varget powder. What kind of speed should I be getting out of this. using it for long range steel. These are seated 2.260, the lands are right at 2.281
Varget isn't going to get your best velocity, it may shoot well for you, but other powders will get you much better velocities.
Alliant Power Pro 2000MR, Hodgdon CFE223 and AA2520, for a start. These powders, especially the 2000MR, will yield significantly higher velocities with a 75 grain bullet in a .223 Rem. All three, however, double base powders and, therefore, more sensitive to temperature than Varget.Would you be so kind as to suggest said powders, please? Thank you![]()
