Will height pressure cause slide lock??

Need advice :
3.8gr of titegroup with blue bullets 125g coated OAL 1.114. Slide sometimes locks back with full magazine. Glock 19.
I was 100% off the slide lock.
Can high pressure cause this? I can’t imagine the pressure is too low. Brass looks ok, no signs really of either.
I don’t have a chronograph so I’m sure of velocity. I plan on making some @3.6 and 4.0 to test
Thoughts?

Doubtful that it’s being caused by high pressure. Does the slide lock back when using different magazines or just one? Has the slide stop assembly been recently serviced?

I use a different powder for plated bullets.... That just off the top of my head seems like alot of charge for Tite group at that COAL i have heard of hot loads making the slide lock open but never had it happen on any of my 19s.. I use alot of berry bullets and if the blue bullets are the same you want to load them as a lead bullet.... I know Berry's says you can load them as low to mid range FMJ data but they will be screaming fast if you do... If it were me I would back the charge down and load the COAL at 1.150 to help decrease pressure...

If these are just target loads they don't need to be super fast as the paper doesn't know the difference and there's really no need to shoot screaming hot ammo for no reason... I would of course try a different magazines and maybe clean the slide release especially under it.... Make sure the slide release spring is under the top pin and correctly installed....

I used three different magazines. It happened in all but only with my reloads. It did not happen with factory ammo. Nothing has been serviced.

Thanks. I’ll lighten up a bit and see if that helps.

The hodgens powder site has some data for lead bullets and tight group..... It looks like your charge maybe ok but I would definitely load a longer COAL to help lower the pressure a bit... Grab yourself a cronograph , they really help in these situations... I wish the plated bullet manufacturers would publish some data for their bullets.....

.
It seems that 1.115 and greater fail the plunk test. I kept the same coal but decreased the charge a little to hopefully achieve the same thing.

Hmmmm, that's strange... I load mine at 1.150 for 2 glock 19s , Glock 26 , Ruger p-85 , Ruger edc and a Beretta 92fs. Now of course I am using Berry's plated bullets instead of blue bullets although I may give the blues a try , my friend loads alot of them and likes them.... For the powder I am using Win231 this year they ( hodgens web page ) have recommended going from a COAL of 1.150 to 1.160 although I haven't changed from 1.150... Well hopefully it will solve your problem , just keep in mind it's very easy to accidentally hit the slide stop and lock the gun , if it keeps happening have someone video you shooting so you can see exactly what's happening.....
