I can't make this up, no matter how hard it is to believe.

I just got back from a really enjoyable/productive session at my indoor range. I was creating a custom elevation tape for my PCP air rifle so I can dial out to 125 yards. I was all alone, not wearing hearing protection, nice. (pretty good groups I might add)
So, fella comes in with great fanfare. Sets up right next to me and starts shooting, at 25 yards.
He shoots 8 or 10 and then asks me what I'm shooting. I tell him it's a BB gun. He didn't care about that.
He can't wait to tell me he has a new 1,000 yard rifle. Factory ammunition.
I ask why he's shooting at 25 yards.
He says, and I'll raise my hand to this, "If it's good at 25, it'll be good at 1,000".
Another hand raise. I'll bet you can't guess the caliber.

I never shot at paper past 500 yards until I went to Ridgway for the first time in 2017.
All I can say is paper at 500yds compared to a crow at 850yds was a real eye opener.

Always reminds me of one well known rifle/handgun shooter that was shooting one day at a range, when a fellow walked up, with his super deluxe rifle and shortly said how his rifle would shoot so much better than what he was seeing the shooter doing and how he could put his shots into the X ring all day at 600 yrd. So said shooter said I will give you $100 for every round you put in the X ring and you give me $1.00 for everyone the misses.
So guess what. The guy with the super deluxe rifle packed his gear, never fired a shot and walk away.

Heard a great conversation.
Guy one - "Sure your 260 is cool but it just doesn't cut it like the creedmoor."

Guy two - " You know what?Yeah have a good one man"

the " is a quote, not a measurement. Punctuation is not my strong suite.

Oh, I figured it was an error, but it sure made me grin to think he had zeroed at 900 inches (25 yds), and he really would have still been “flat-shooting” out to 1,000 inches.
