Expander lube

Has anyone tried hornady one shot for expander lube? Today I used imperial wax and imperial dry lube then Hornady . I found the one shot seemed to work much smoother?

I use nothing but petroleum based oils. The more viscous the thicker the oil film seperating the die and brass.

I used Imperial most of the time, but since I went to Hornady one shot, I use it 98% of the time. It works so well.

I have used the Hornady One Shot and 3-IN-ONE Dry Lube. I apply both to the inside of the case neck with a Q-Tip. For the One Shot, I spray a little into a small container and saturate the Q-Tip. The 3-In-One is not under pressure and you can just squeeze it out.

I like both of them.

I give my dies a quick clean with Hornaady one shot. It works really well, lubricates the entire die including the exspander.

This ^^ A little on a Q tip. You can get it from a few places. Tubbs has it. $45 for literally a lifetime supply. And it works great for lots of other things where you want a super slick dry lube.

Is there a brand name ?

I've used one shot for expanding necks on my K&M 6 to 30 mandrel since the end of 2012. Works fine. Also spray it on a TiN coated mandrel when I'm turning necks on my 21st Century lathe.

Look it up on you tube.
Do about 1/25 of the spraying the video shows and at more than 1' in distance.
I have a 3 sided box I set the tray in, spray turn tray 180 spray.
Sizing is super easy &
My bullets seat consistently.

I too have found One Shot to be most efficient so far when expanding 1000's of Vartargs, made from LC brass, for turning. One short spray up into the expander die covers a few cases.....ymmv. Much faster than dipping each neck in graphite or cutting oil.

However I've got a couple bottles of Hobo Oil to try.....I'm hoping the mandrel will be permeated with the Hobo oil and work for more cases than the One Shot for each application.
