So you can't shoot in any of the big shoots unless you shoot 6matches?
Y'all really don't want any of the IBS guys to support your matches do ya?

Another way to phrase that may be " So you can't shoot in any of the big shoots unless you support the GBA?".

It is this kind of bitterness and divisiveness that caused the GBA to come into existence. Can't you at least give them a chance to change this attitude that has long plagued our sport? No one has a crystal ball, at least not one that works, so be careful, it could be the IBS that needs the support of GBS members in a few years.

Obviously it was put in their by laws/rules for a reason. I was just pointing it out and asking a question. Bitterness eh? You don't know me cause if you did you would know that I'm definitely not a bitter old man.

If I misinterpreted the intent of your post, I apologize but it was "Y'all really don't want any of the IBS guys to support your matches do ya?" that set the tone for me. I guess I'm just tired of all the competition that seems to go on within the associations. The competition should be taking place on the firing line.

Again, my apologies.

Honestly I had planned on shooting the state matches like I did last year. I supported almost every 1000 yard range on the east coast last year. All except Whitehorse didn't get there last year but wanted to. I have no problem supporting any club/range, but when they make a point to exclude shooters I would like to know the reasoning behind it. I am loading as we speak for the 3 match weekend in Georgia this weekend. Y'all should ride down its going to be a big time.

I'm jealous. Out of 1,000 yard guns at the moment, well I do have a 6.5x47 but its not really set up the best for paper matches. Sold a couple rigs over the winter and the new ones haven't arrived yet. I hope to meet you at a match sometime.

I’m a little confused on those rules also. I’m a new guy to long range benchrest but I stay very busy with my job and family and only get to shoot a certain amount of match’s. Heck I live 3 miles from cool acres and don’t make all the matches there.

But I do try to make sure I can shoot big matches every year to see all the great people I’ve meet in this sport.

But guess I won’t get to come to Virginia or wherever the big global matches will be.

If your trying to get new shooters in might wanna think about the working guys that only get to shoot a few times

Heck not like we gone win.

I have shot exactly one long range match, the nationals in Montana last year. I figured the Nationals would be the place to get our feet wet, see the cool stuff and put faces with the names we see on the score sheets throughout the year. I wasn’t excluded but rather made to feel Welcome by everyone there. Great times. That’s how the sport will grow, at least in my eyes. My $.02

Im with yall. I'm glad the IBS didnt turn me away when all the guys talked me into going to my first IBS match ever, which happened to be the 2017 nationals. I mainly went because it was a fun guys weekend out of town and I needed a getaway. Little did I know I would leave with a major addiction and now it hurts me to miss a match. I know my situation is not typical, but it happened, and I'm glad it did because I wouldn't be loading ammo right now as I'm typing this. :)

I was hoping I would see something that would make me forget about my past with VA incidents like the board voting to do something at white horse and the president veto that and they stayed at Harry Jones I left. Looks to me like the members will have no say what so ever if the board runs everything. I see Harry Jones is shooting IBSs option 1 with 1st 2nd 3rd place points I was told by a whitehorse member that Harry Jones didn't want that why makes no sense to me. Glad they are keeping it even though it's diffrent in the Global rules . I too live sevral hours east of most of these ranges and I don't know if I can make 6 1000 and 3 600 in order to shoot championship matchs maybe someone else will put one on on the same day in IBS so us that can't make it to GBA can at least shoot a big match. Man I Remember all the h+!! That got raised over .05 for relay and1.0 for match no matter how many shooters you have that will get ugly I'm afraid.
8 Target agg for heavy gun and light gun for championship match wow that will take some brass and time and you are at the mercy of mother nature.
It is going to make me drive another 3 hours longer but looks like Hawks Ridge and maybe last few matches at GA will be my deal as well as 600 at piedmount maybe
GA and Bridgeville.

Sorry I tried and I just can't get over the past I do wish all the shooters who join the best but stay on your toes you pay the bills. Good Luck to all of you.

Off topic, but i remember one local track had a big sprint car race at the end of the year. To keep the invaders from coming in to win the big money, they put on a rule where you had to run 5 races to be eligible. That made the race go away because we had 3 local tracks that ran the sprints and as car count dropped at all tracks, there wasn't enough to make a full field of cars. Matt

I hesitate to even respond to this thread because I do not know the issues. So I will start with a questions to attempt to grasp how 4 associations can stay afloat.
Is this about acknowledgement and awards or shooting small? From what I have gleaned from reading the preceding 8 pages, it appears to be about the former.
Please, set me straight on this. I am sure I have overlooked something in this tread?????
