All this make my head hurt. I just wanna shoot my 5 or 10 shots or what ever the range master tells me, DQ and get my ice cream and go eat dinner with all my buddies after I call them "Jack Asses" for making me pay more attention to my table manners.

As one gets older, this stuff "doesn't mean a thang". Make an effort to agree to disagree and move along and smell the roses as "this to shall pass".

+ 1 ...you nailed it . No sense in discouraging anyone that wants to shoot . My Son is 29 years younger than myself...He finds BR boring , I find PRS too busy(because I am old and frustrated with my physical abilities mostly)... different opinions on fun at this stage in life, opinions vary... we should all meet in the middle and enjoy our time at the range while we still can.

Not true I have assisted with 6 chassis PRS rifles and easily obtained 3in 5 shot groups at a thousand. This was with 6xc, Dasher, 6.5 x 47

That is really funny in practice I see sub 1" groups shot with a BR rifles and you say 3" groups in practice with a PRS is on the same level, I don't think so. A half inch gun that repeats will be good for PRS. Look at the size of the targets they use. You need .1 guns in BR....... jim

I've got a top secret creedmore build started just hope I'm man enough to shoot it without a talisman. Heard they were hard to get.;)

You would think they would have a website by now. Who is in charge? Are they gonna make up rules as they go? I hope it goes well. Suppose those Creedmoor secret people are involved??

no, just how difficult and how much work is involved setting up the site. The IBS has been setting up online voting for many years, but that really doesn't matter how you vote though. They change the outcome to their way of thinking after the vote was cast to benefit a few..... jim

I am anxious to read the coming website , just like others. However no one from the new organization ever made any publiç announcements I have read about proclaiming when a website will be up. I am glad they seem to be taking the time to try and get it right the first time. For the sake of our sport I hope they form a successful honest organization, not one that is for the benefit of a few. If as a group we shooters spent the energy promoting our sport as we do feuding and looking for a selfish edge we would be way ahead of the game. How many of you reading this can say you have brought a new shooter into our spot in the last five years. I bet we are a very small minority.

I agree 100 percent,I have introduced at least 20 new shooters in the last two years...mostly through my Son's work place ...which is filled with computer geeks BTW . Every single one of them would comment about all the rude folks on the web . They read terms like snowflake,Lib,etc. ,and ask me what that has to do with shooting...I never have a real answer. All I know is there are some mighty fine folks that want to get into shooting, why not encourage them . I honestly think hatred and jealousy are ruining this sport more than anything.Just my two cents. And if that does not sink in,please listen to the words my Mom would always say when She saw someone going into a hissy fit..."Fight nice Children " . Children was the word She emphasized in that statement.

I don't know if the cost are the same, at a BR match when you hear them talking the main topic seems to be what they have invested in the rifle. But never do you hear much more on anything about accuracy, small groups loading or components. They soon find out they are not completive at BR. as we old farts can't run around and play their game..... jim
With all due respect, I can't say that this has been my experience. I just compete in 600 BR, but in the crowd I shoot with we mostly talk about accuracy, small groups loading or components, with the occasional mention of cost.

That is what I said about BR. it is ( Them) PRS that are impressed with how much they spend on guns.... jim

PRS guys that I have been around don't really talk about what their rifles cost and, for most, not even about how pretty the paint is. They do talk about how fast the action allows them to run the gun and about how their chosen brand of chassis/stock is the best for the game. Thing is too there is always a new bipod, latest bag shape or maybe even the latest new strap or whatever added to a bag in the "latest gen".
They also like having a five mile hike with all their gear between stages apparently because that happens quite often.
Not many old, broken down BR shooters could do that any more.
It's, IMO, the match fees that the PRS guys are forking over the big cash for. Most two day matches have a $250-300 fee attached. Add 250 rounds or so of ammo, hotels and the like and there goes the budget.

Well enough of the secret squirrel BS, this a very prominate accuracy site, surely there is someone that’s offiliated with said organization that can give us the particulars on here. I’m beginning to think it’s all a bunch of BS designed to tweek the IBS shooters.
From a UBR point of view, I think all the score shooters should just start shooting our game and enjoy the sport again... just my .02 worth...

With all of this said. There is a 3 match weekend coming up in Georgia on the 2nd and 3rd for matches 3,4 and 5 of the 1000 yard IBS. I know the weather for most places has been extremely subpar so what a great time to shoot! Weather wil be in the 60’s with no snow or monsoon. The range is beautiful with an even better ran match. Shoot 2 matches on Saturday and 1 one Sunday and have you on the road around lunch time. Hell you never know we may try to whip up some great dinner Saturday evening after the match for good fellowship and wise cracks. I don’t know about y’all but damn if that isn’t the main reason I shoot! Hope to see you there.
