Wow, what a bunch of strangeness

Here is an analogy, over here it is like a gunshop or gunsmith shop discussion at the counter. There is a bit of douchebaggery but it doesn't usually get out of hand.

The "Hide" however, is more like a squad bay, or a single soldiers enlisted barracks with new dumb ass privates arriving daily. You either learn to swim with the sharks and back up whatever stupid stuff you said, or you get butthurt and leave.

The HMFIC is the Command Sergeant Major who will absolutely tell you exactly what is on his mind. If you can't handle that dynamic, then you do not belong there.

But the ideas that come out of conversations over there have completely transformed the industry. That is a fact, whether or not the AS crowd liked it or not.

The hide’s influence on the industry is amazing. Frank can really move product when he chooses to. Kudos to him. He really is a knowledgeable guy for the most part. A little gruff, but it takes all kinds of personalities to make life interesting.

A really bad case of "little man syndrome " to say the least. :D:D

Paul
He definitely exhibits tendancies for Napolean's Complex. I don't care what you call it or what he's "done" for the community, he's a @#$%&*. Proudly, I was banned from the site for disliking one of his posts. Didn't write anything, just disliked it. He went totally psychotic, neurotic, apesh**, foaming at the mouth wild. Actually a little scary. Curious to see what the future holds for Frankie.

My theory is that were we get all these novice creedmoore questions. People moving from that crazy site. They are figuring out the reloading knowledge is on this site and they are coming in droves now.

If they are new then they lack the experience to discern what they need.

It is less intimidating over here, but they still will have to wade through just as many opinions on esoteric processes to find out what they actually need.

It always cracks me up when someone with a factory Savage or similar rifle starts getting advice from the peanut gallery on turning necks, sorting brass, barrel break in...etc.

I had a membership over there many, many years ago. Hung out for a week or so and quickly decided it wasn't for me. I'm not ex military and would never try to pass myself off as such.

I've been a competitive F Class shooter for about 9 years, started in 2010. During that time I have had the pleasure shooting with/competing against some honest to goodness real deal current and ex military snipers. One that comes to mind was a gentleman that was stationed at Ft. Carson. I ask him one day what he did in the Army. He said he was a "marksmanship instructor". He later told me what his role really was. I was a little aww struck to say the least. The one common thing I've noticed about these shooters is the lack of bravado. I've yet to see one with a screen name of Sniper Billy Bob or such. The other thing I've noticed, they can shoot. Actions do speak louder than words.

I’m not against camo, per se. I have a few, myself, although I prefer a nice hunk of Walnut. Those guys will paint everything camo, including the scope.
It's all good, I'm a hide veteran. Paint is waning, I never got that one either on a scope, esp after watching someone try resell one. Nothing IMO knocks the value of a scope down like paint.
