Supposedly their classifieds and the fraud, disagreements, etc that go along with it cause him and his staff a ton of headaches. I think he generates enough revenue from ads and the training sections that he doesn’t care if the PX stays up or not. It would be interesting to see how much traffic would drop if it was shut down though. I usually stop by once a day or so just to see if there’s anything interesting for sale over there. Without that, I would still check it if I was looking for some information on something but that wouldn’t be daily.

I started visiting SH about 2 years ago. Learned a lot. I concur on the podcasts, generally enjoy them.
No way am I paying $20 a month but it doesn't surprise me. Everyone is going to need more money as inflation is taking off ladies and gentlemen. My liberal daughter who also owns a small business renting storage units Just jacked her prices about 20% a month. Before she was telling me that only taxes are going up on people making $400k or 450K and corporations, whatever Biden was saying. Well Guess what daughter, your going to be paying increased prices on everything to pay those taxes levied on those corporations anyhow. Gee ,why did you raise your storage unit prices darling? Oh, your costs went up ,imagine that and you passed it on to your customers. I'm sure expenses at Snipers hide are going up too, what are they going to do?
On another note I pretty much quite posting on there site. I no longer post there because i'm belittled because i ask a question about a Savage barrel and basically no one ever answered the question and was told well we use the best aftermarket barrels and best gunsmiths in the county and i'm just another idiot who bought a bore scope. Whatever.

A lot like buzz I’m a member of three different forums they’re all different the hide is a little let’s just say rougher than my other two forums but there is information that we gain as well as attitude so I am not there very often

Little different take on this:
Stuff sells on there, period. Faster than anywhere else - including here - for a lot of items.
If you want to sell a bunch of stuff, or a couple high dollar items... pay up $20 for a month, sell your stuff (it almost certainly won't take a month), and then go back to normal freeloader status. Not that big of a deal. People pay up here for less substantial benefits.
If you don't like it, and don't want to support it for whatever reason that's fine too... but no need to 'virtue signal' by bitching about it on your way out. Quietly exit stage left with some composure, like an adult.

My exact thoughts. I’m not an expert shot or competitor. This site is awesome to me. Always get help in a respectful manner when I need it.
The Hide was a pretty good spot in the early 2000s, but even then the clique thing was tedious at best, and downright pathetic at worst, e.g. when a chump nicknamed 'Celt' was selling a 3-screw Remington bolt modification and the lemmings were lining up. (Picture a Rem 700 bolt handle drilled in 3 spots, and then screws inserted, supposedly to strengthen the connection...) Celt fell behind schedule, was loath to respond to inquiries, but anybody who dared to express concern or indignation was stamped on by the Hiders for having the temerity to question the revered Celt. Until he was caught red-handed by a respected Hider in a situation that was documented in the Hide. Suddenly Celt was no longer immune. About time.

Just a thought about scammers and SH. By requiring payment Frank knows who you are. You agree to terms and conditions that provide him some recourse dealing with the scoundrels. The scammers work in the dark. The fee brings everyone into the light.
Every shooter is welcome, but this site has to stay a professional site. IMO, it will be moderator's ( I don't know if this site has any) and member's responsibility to stop any childish behavior and/or language.

To each there own but it sounds steep. I think a large percentage of people who visit the classifieds here, there and on every other related to firearms are attracted straight away to the classifieds. I think they will lose a substantial amount of visitors or members with good intentions and many of the pond scum. I rarely stop by there, the ego strutting isn’t for me so it’s not a big loss here. Sorry if it is for you.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess Frank knows what he's doing on this, and has good reasons for it. Running a site like that is a serious PITA, and I'm sure it's a big time suck especially with fraud and classifieds. I'll admit that I haven't gotten a whole lot of value out of the forums in a while. Way too many "what color stock should I get" and "how do I turn my calculator on" posts makes it tough to wade through to find the good stuff. The extreme brand loyalty gets tiresome as well. I do get a kick out of the particular brand of humor that permeates the site, in small doses at least.
