I took some guys to the range on Saturday. Two “youngsters” were trying out their new guns and an old friend came into town. I took a day and made all the ammo on Friday. Loaded the truck on Saturday morning with all the gear, forgetting my extra sandbags.
Since I only have three rests, I played coach most of the time. I did shoot a few rounds while somebody took a break but for the most part I just spotted. We got back late so I piled the guns in the shop with a patch of Wipe out in the barrels and left them for Sunday. I went to bed feeling a little deprived. I spent Sunday afternoon scrubbing and cleaning and putting things away. When I finished the “work”, I sat back and reflected. Even tho I didn’t get to really shoot, I had spent a day with good friends and another day fawning over gun’s. I looked at the table. Yup! Life is good!
As we approach the Christmas holiday, I’d like to suggest we all count our blessings and not linger on the disappointments life may hand us. May God bless you all and have a merry Christmas! Josh
