Laminate vs Fibreglass vs Carbon fibre stock for FTR

Looking to get stock for Barnard FTR build.
Want you hear from experts if there is any difference between laminate vs fibreglass vs carbon fibre stocks, other than weight of course.

Laminate I would recommend a PR&t if you can find one..t6a carbon fiber and in fiberglass McMillan Xit and hopefully you will have better luck getting use to it than me.I would also look at the mpa hybrid.

Initially I wanted to get laminate but if I can save some weight, I would like to put little more into barrel.
Is there any accuracy/vibration or tracking differences between them? Or does that just depend on how well stock is built?

The carbon elite t6a from manners weighs 3lb3oz I put a 32”Speedy contour barrel and APA bottom metal with a jewel br trigger and with a joypod and the rest of the stuff you have to weigh the gun only weighs 17lbs.My shooting buddy won the Tx LR state championship and also shot a 200 15x at nationals with his.

Doan Trevor came up with a spruce/fiberglass FTR stock that is very strong and light. You can look at the pictures on his website www.doantrevor.com. He provided at least one to a friend of mine set up for a Barnard P. If you happen to be left handed I expect you could get a decent price on one.

get ahold of me in the next month or so maybe have a FTR barnard stock by a famous Canadian maker for sale just not sure yet

I gotta Kelblys 1M on my Stolle F/TR build. Works good so far. Just have to find the right rear bag for as the stocks so slippery due to the coating on the stock. My stock came in at 1360gm.

Can't speak for the wood, but either of our F-Class stocks, the Kestros variants or X-IT can be done in Fiberglass or Carbon Fiber (graphite). Both of which currently hold the F-class records.

I am under the impression the xit stock forend is quite short compared to some of the other stocks for example the precision rifle and tool type stocks is this correct. Jeff

The forend on the XIT is about 20 1/4" measured from the grip to the end of the forend. I'm not familiar with the specs of the PRT stocks.
