xtr,
try to stay on task. I asked a specific question. I also do not know any "Budds" here.
Reread my post. I want to know how a March warranty, which I now know is 5 years and non-transferable; and which I know is a very good reason NOT to buy a used one compared to the other two. I already know that Leupold and Vortex have a lifetime warranty and are made here.
I do NOT need to compare it to "every other warranty", since I am not interested in any other brands, just the two I mentioned.

A warranty has nothing to do with pride in a product. For many, a lifetime warranty means a better product. That's far from the truth. March isn't alone with a limited time warranty. Is a Volkswagen a better car than all other cars made? After all, the VW comes with a 6 year/72,000 mile warranty. Personally, I'll take quality over a lifetime warranty, every time.None of my Nightforce scopes have ever been sent back, non have ever needed any repair. With all due respect to Sharaz, he could change his mind at any moment. If the factory has no more pride in their scopes than a 5 year warranty, than why should I even consider one?
I thought he gave up the March dealership. MattDon't get hung up on the lifetime warranty. Shiraz has extended the warranty an additional 5 years, it is transferrable, and he is going to take care of his customers.
Edit: Shiraz has addressed this issue on more than one occasion.
No. Shiraz is in it for the long haul.I thought he gave up the March dealership. Matt

March Optics USA Inc. has a service center right here in the U.S.A. The scopes no longer go back to Japan. You have sheltered yourself from the real world. This was addressed by Shiraz two or three years ago. AFAIK, Vortex scopes, depending on the model, are made in China, Japan, Philippines and USA.
March Optics USA Inc maintains a comprehensive service center in the USA where March scopes of any age can be sent in for recalibration, repairs, re-setting to factory specifications, troubleshooting, etc.
another example is a watch. some timex watches come with a lifetime warranty, a Rolex comes with a 1 year. warranty is far from a true indicator of quality. just my .02. bryantA warranty has nothing to do with pride in a product. That lifetime warranty isn't free. You're paying a premium for it, which has been added to the cost for the scope.another example is a watch. some timex watches come with a lifetime warranty, a Rolex comes with a 1 year. warranty is far from a true indicator of quality. just my .02. bryant
