action quality

thinking of building a new rifle, question i have is i have access to a bighorn TL3 in short action, 308 bolt face, right bolt, left port, are these actions as smooth as the other brands such as defiant, nucleus ect. one thing they don't have is the capability for the trigger hangar for timing, is this a problem.

It is rare for a remington clone action to have a trigger hanger. The trigger hanger has nothing to do with trigger timing. The defiance is your best bet off your list unless you could luck upon a nucleus

The Tikka every bit as smooth as most custom actions.
Kelby Atlas tactical and Impact Precision, both newer actions have trigger hangers. I was under assumption it aided in bolt lift if done right.

a trigger hanger allows you to remove your trigger from a glued in action. there are some adjustable trigger hangers but one I know of is for a panda and the others are for bats. having a regular trigger hanger on an action that comes out of the stock is a novelty unless you need a spare trigger to be swapped out quickly like at a match where you may get gunk in there

I'm no action maker, just know I have a couple impact actions with hangers. Whether it serves a purpose or not, does not matter to me, I do know because of it, you do not swap stocks at will, a manners mini chassis needs some milling to accommodate. Lawton actions used hangers too, I think their function was to bind up a jewell trigger.

if the action gets cerakote it'll sure bind up a trigger.

i see you suggestion on the actions, so are you saying stay away from the bighorn action quality vs the defiance and the nucleus. i take it you may have heard some negatives on the bighorn. or have you saw one and felt the others were better or perhaps they are just not suited for BR shooting, actually i am not sure if they are a new company, but i have yet to see one at a BR Shoot.

actually you wont see any of the 3 of those at a BR match. I was just saying the defiance is the better quality action of the 2 you listed which are available. the nucleus is still new and hard to get but wont be at a br match either
