Well; time to get set up for PDs.

Plan:.
222 on a 788 50gr nosler varmiggedon and benchmark.

223 on AR platform; 55gr dogtowns on top of WC846; I'm working up a load that will be accurate enough from two uppers. Using range brass incase I lose one or two.

Plan is heat management; change between the three for heat management. Carry bag has room for two plus an upper; thus might as well use it and stock up ammo.

Others are handling the 6mm and 20 Cal; thus we should have it covered.

I've been getting ready myself. I hope it's a good year in p-dog town.

223: 50 v-max & benchmark
223: 60 v-max & benchmark
22-250: 55 v-max & varget
243: 115 Berger & H4350

You are to late to the game.....:Dbeen on them hard since middle of March
A few of the ranches I shoot on are saying this year the explosion of them and new towns popping up getting out of hand even though they are out dropping poison on them. They can not keep up with their growth.
Little ones are on the way.
Ive got close to 5k rounds loaded. I am reloading the empties soon as I get back home to keep my stock up.
2 rigs, my usual Savage builds in .223, 50g zmax, w748. A 6x45 with 55g varmageddons & h335 as my back up, 2 spare .223 barrels on hand.

I'm so jealous no prairie dogs in Michigan

Ha! I need to find more ranchers then! We've had typical high desert warm cold cycles for spring; but yes it is certainly time to get out. Hows that 6x45 handle?

6x45 is an easy shooting rig, can see hits, low recoil, simple to load for as the .223.

Where are you located?

Yep, late indeed.

We've been working over our ground squirrels now since mid-March when the snow cleared. With all the moisture this winter, the little buggers are thriving anywhere they're not using poison (another ugly story).

My Anschutz 17HMR, Cooper 221 Furball and my Cooper 20VT have already had quite a workout, and getting ready for an extended trip to the rat patch soon to keep boolits in the air. Later in the season, it'll be time for the 223, 204R for the longer shots offered.

A scene from last week giving my Cooper 20VT some bench time:

Tis the season for rock chucks too..........oh yeah..........:)

Hey Rick. I'm in Grants Pass. I am planning on heading down into Denio area before too long to revisit my old buck huntin grounds and look for rock chucks. Do you have any experience with these critters in this area?
