I have probably owned more front rests in my 4 season's of competition in SR score than anyone. I've owned 1 original Bald Eagle slingshot, 1 Dan Greenlaw home plate rest, 4 Farley CoAx2's, 5 Seb Coax's, and 3 Neo's & 1 Seb Max, and have 4 more on order. I have only used the Farley, Seb Coax, and Seb Neo's in matches. I can honestly say that I have done no better, or worse with any of the 3. The thing that shines in Sebastian's products is product support and quality of workmanship. His way of thinking is the customer is #1, which is the way it should be. His products are second to none, plus if you have an idea that you think will enhance any of Seb's rests, HE WILL LISTEN and will incorporate it if he deems it as an improvement. I've always told shit like it is and this post is no different. While the Farley is a pretty nice rest, there are products out there that enhance it, like the tension screws that Butch Lambert sells, the stainless steel feet that PMA offers, bags by Edgewood or Protektor. The trouble with Farley is their customer support, or the lack of it. While I like Mike, Jaime and Jim as people, their idea of customer support is lying to people, plain and simple. Where the truth would do, they lie about it. I bought a new Black Widow action and requested a firing pin removal tool and I gave up after a year and a half worth of lies on the phone. In the end I had Sid Goodling fabricate one for me. Dave Apple from MD coined the term "Farley Time" years ago. They have their own time frame but they'll tell you different. If they tell you they are going to ship it this week, don't hold your breath. Your lucky to see it 9 month's from now. I will NEVER buy another Farley anything. I don't need hearing anymore lies. BOTTOM LINE, GET A SEB REST!!! YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID!Hey guys I'm looking into upgrading my front rest ,but I'm undecided as to which rest I should buy ,I do favor precision made products .any thoughts on the Farley,or seb neo rests .thanks
Thank you rick I sure willThe joy stick isn't for everybody and may not be for you. You will always get your $ back out of a Seb so if you decide you don't want to go that route ( and many don't ) you will be able to recoup your $.....I did........With that being said, take a moment or 2 to look at what John Loh has to offer. I have one and it is the top of the line ( IMHO ) of non joy stick adjustable rests........Best of luck
Regards
Rick
Tighten the screw in the top and you can stop the spin . It is on the front side . LarryI've had a Farley, Randolph, Bald Eagle and currently own a NEO.
My Randolph rest was amazing except I didn't like the free spinning top.
My Farley took a little work, a little adjusting and some choice words but it was a very good rest.
The craftsmanship and attention to detail is amazing. But, the elevation movement on mine doesn't feel quite right, I think I need to switch it over to the "Ratigan" version with the counterweight.
My choice would be a Randolph because I'm faster using independent elevation and windage vs a joystick. Might sell my neo.
Hahaha, that's terrible, I don't think I ever looked to see if I could tighten it!Tighten the screw in the top and you can stop the spin . It is on the front side . Larry
