Thanks! That 42ish grain range in H4350 sure seems to be a winner!!

djdc,

Often we all get caught up with the physical description of the build and then the cartridge/load information.

Just as often we forget the most important factor in these builds, the shooter.

Congratulations on your build and to you for having the talent and skill to drive it so well!

Regards.

Gun weighs 11.2 lbs w optics and bipod. The attached group is shots 2-4 through the barrel at 100 yds. .209" 3 shot group. Load is 61.5 gr of h1000 with a 140 hybrid .015 off the lands with virgin hornady brass.

Here's an oldy but goody and a new one.

2006-7 1000yd-BR Light rifle. Built by Bill Shehane in 6.5-284Shehane with a BAT-B, Bartlien (IIRC) 28"er, Shehane Tracker II (IIRC) stock, Nightforce 12-42X56.

Shot it really well one WE at Tres Pinos, w. of Tucson, winning three of four trophies. I'm particularly proud of the 4-9/16" 5-shot group. :) Also shot a 7-odd-inch 10-shot group.

And the new one--please don't laugh too loudly--a new Savage model 10 Predator Hunter Max 1 in 6.5 Creedmoor.

Scope is a Vortex 6.5-20 that tonite got mounted on a long Picatinny rail for more-correct eye relief. Still working on loads but have shot some handloads and factory Hornadys at under 3/4". The most accurate Hornady factory load is the less-expensive American Gunner 140g. HPBTs which produced 0.7" and 0.9" 4-shot, 100yd. groups.

Well my wedding present I made for my fiance and I got done last week, easier to smooth things over when its for both of us ;) Its a 6.5 GAP 4S. It has a Kelbly Tactical Atlas action, Manners EH1A folding stock, 24" Interrupted fluting rem varm contour Brux Barrel, Curtis Custom bottom metal, Accurate magazines, Jewel trigger, TBAC Ultra 7 suppressor, Hawkins Precision rings and a Vortex AMG scope. This rifles a hammer. Heres a 3 shot group thats .198"@100 yds off a bipod. H1000, 140 hybrid, fed 215m primer. Got to break her in on some deer this weekend also with my future brother in law. Spotting my hits and watching the deer fall over was a blast. We have a bunch more tags for this weekend. DNR wants deer removed to test for CWD.

rifle weighs 13.2 lbs with optics, suppressor and bipod.

Very nice rifle. How do you like the Atlas? I have one of their Big bore actions and a Panda F-class and I love them. But I have been interested in one of their tactical actions for a while. Just curious your opinion on it.

Thanks
Nick

Thank you. I love my atlas tactical. Feeds and cycles butter smooth. I also like the mechanical ejector. I have quite a few builds coming up that will be using the tactical and over 50 hunting rifle builds that will be using the standard atlas that are due to be in customers hands by late summer. Another thing about Kelbly is they are top notch people. For the same price as a stiller they are the way to go.

Ryan

Thanks for the input. I think my next repeater will be be either the Atlas or a Kodiak. I have been very happy dealing with Kelbly, they are top notch in my opinion. I currently have a Borden Timberline on the way so that is next for me.

Thanks
Nick

Not a problem. Borden is top notch as well. I have one of his new mid length actions in magnum bf repeater that will be here in a day or two. Building a 6.5 saum on it for a customer. Its his 5th full blown custom Ive built him since last spring.

Ryan, I have a couple of questions. What's this stuff about getting married? And what is that white stuff that you're using for a photo backdrop? When I go outside, I see dirt and cactus!
