6.5's Show Them and give particulars

This rifle started life as an old 6mm Rem. The barrel was getting tired and so I decided that it was time for a change. I bought a 24-inch, 1/8 twist, Rem-age .260 barrel and had a buddy screw it on and bed it for me.

The scope is an SWFA 10x SS in SWFA rings.

It shoots 1/4-1/2 moa at 200 with 129-grain Interlocks over Re17 @ 3010 fps.

10 pounds of a deer's worst nightmare!;)

Last time I shot it for groups it was 3 shots @ 400 that went in just under 1.25".
Hard to believe with country side like you have behind that rifle, you can't utilize it to your best ability with a rifle to deer hunt with. I can shoot ground hogs in the next zip code with my 6.5 while in Ohio but cannot use that rifle to kill deer. Sad !!!

I wanted a 6.5 Creedmoor to learn how to shoot at distance and thought about re-barreling a .243 AI custom that I have, but then I read some of the reviews on the Tikka CTR; plus I liked the idea of a 20" barrel to use my Silencerco Hybrid on. I added a 3 x 15 Nightforce. The group pictured is my third group during break in with Hornady 129 grain interlocks (factory). The first two measured about 0.8, but then I realized the humidity was high and added some baby powder to the bags. That's five shots at a hundred, with the wind in my face at about 7 mph. Maybe one day I will put in in a Manners or McMillan.

So, my question is, will the baby powder cause cancer?

I guess that's ok in the long run, at least for me. There's alot of monster bucks in Ohio thats numbers would be much lower if rifles were allowed in Ohio during there gun season. I guess I'll have to just be satisfied using them on ground hogs.

My 'trans-gendered' rifle - as a friend named it. Started out as a 'rescue' 30-06 with tupperware stock. Sent it to Pac-nor and it came back as a 6.5 Swede. Shot some Lapua factory 123 gr Scenars and got a .441" group. Then loaded some 142 ABLR and it did this:

Found a stock online and it's now all pretty and looks like this:

Here's a 6.5 saum 4S I just finished up for a customer. It has a Stiller Tac 30, Manners EH1 gap camo stock, Brux #4 straight fluting barrel, Curtis Custom bottom metal, Accurate 3 round mag, Jewell trigger, and my 9/16x24 PR brake.
