Pretty smart, actually. That's the way many shops are set up. You isolate the pad from the foundation, and don't have to worry about expansion and contraction. Once that part is achieved, you dry-pack your baseplates, and nothing moves. Ever! Don is a very smart cookieMatt, I don't know if you know the Pumpkin"Don Nielson". He suggested to me to saw out the length of the lathe and back 30" and put a runway about 5" deep. Always a clown.
