Norma 6Dasher Brass

You need to drink more beer then! My reamer was made when blue box were blowing out longer than they are now. I'd like to get the necks back out the way Lapua used to be. If I have to trim them back for a custom length to fit my chamber then that's better than running way short like now!

If I am looking at this correctly a .292 neck should give a case length around 1.600-1.605 depending on neck size. If so that would be great for many shooters. It would also be its own selling point as it could not be duplicated by forming a Lapua br case.

Folks using a Dasher will be trimming their brass anyway I assume.. Shouldn't be to hard to leave your trimmer @ your desired length.. I vote for leaving it long..

The old chamber was 1.570 since blue box came along with the shorter cases forming chamber length shorten up to 1.555 to 1.560. I don't think the length of 1.600 will be a game changer and some times more is less…… It will make the old 1.570 reamers useful again. jim

Jim it's just like the 300 WSM brass it comes up short when you fire form. I don't think other than being the same length it doesn't hurt accuracy. My brass comes out 1.545. But my fire form rifle is on the short side so they go right into the match rifle.

I purposely set my dasher up short. 1.550 and I blow to 1.540. I will trim accordingly with this new brass. Like others I just couldn't get them to lengthen out.

Then it wouldn't be a Dasher ……. would it. I don't see the big deal, Not having to fire form and all the work that goes along with it is enough for me…… jim

I just spoke with Norma again a few minutes ago.

Tentatively, and after confirmation with their ballistics department tomorrow, they have agreed to make the necks 7.39mm which is .291" long on the Dashers.

As soon as they final confirm, I will post it, but it is looking very good!

Thanks.

pburr I clean all my rifles after 15-20 rounds. So carbon doesn't build up. If you have a bore scope, you can keep an eye on the carbon.
Like I was told many years ago! leave it alone it will grow.

I understand, but I use mine for F-Class and there is no cleaning after 15-20 rounds fired! If Im at a 2 day match where there are about 60 rounds fired for record plus all the sighters comes out to around 140 rounds on average. I just don't have the time to get into that level of cleaning nor do I want too to be honest. I want my brass to fit the chamber the way it was designed. I could have my reamer modified to have the case length shortened to better fit the Lapua brass but it's always better to have the necks longer, not shorter. If we can get the Norma Dasher with longer necks, that's a major selling point for my benefit! It sounds like most people are on that same page.

If made with longer necks, gives everyone options... a win, win, all the way around !.!.!
Short necks would work for some, but disappoint others.....
Myself, I desire to end up with +1.565" for length, and really really really hope there made to .4685 to 469" in base/web diameter, which matches Lapua specs. The current Norma 6mmBR brass have smaller base/web diameters and get hurt very easy with the commonly used 6Dasher chamber dimensions.

This is the deciding factor, that the base size is the same as the current Lapua brass , length is nice to be able to trim to what i want. jim

+1.......exactly! Dimensionally, they need to be like Lapua so we at least have the option to move from one to the other without having to get new reamers and barrels!
