Norma 6Dasher Brass

Latest photo from Norma received this morning. They look delicious!

They still need to trim to length, cut the extraction grooves and then they are going in for pressure testing. Moving right along.

Agreed. Don't cut too much off them necks.

I just spoke with Norma in Sweden and asked them the possibilities of making the necks even longer than originally specified, which is already over .100" longer than the fire-formed brass. They asked me to send them the specs and they will see if they are able to leave it longer than the drawing.

I think we can hopefully squeeze out another .050" in length.

Thanks.

great news,,,I can just run my BR reamer in +.050" and "viola",,,,I have been a "nay-sayer" so far but if they can make em long and tuff,,,sign me up !!!...Roger

Am i missing something, a .100 than fire formed brass? 1.550 is what i fire form to, add a .100 and hoping for more? 1.570 is the old chamber length. 1.650 length and want a extra .050??? this getting totally out of hand. might as well scrap the idea and use a 6x47L length. A Dasher with a .400 neck? A 6BR is only .322………. jim

Jim,

IF it truly works out to be 1.650" that would be great....IMO.

People would have the choice to trim to their length, or do something different all together, I do see your point about the X47 case though.....

Hope all is well with you,

Phil.

Jim - you are correct. Their drawings are in metric and I must have missed something when I converted them. Anyway, I have asked them to make the necks the same length as the 6 XC necks (about .292") that are much longer than the fire-formed Dasher brass everyone is using. Let's wait and see what response I get before having a huge debate.

.292 would be fine. trim back to what you want. I had no trouble reaching 3100 but it didn't shoot that good at 1.550. It is a lot easier to trim than fire form….. jim

Jim, not everyone gets the lengths that you do with the blue box brass. I've tried your way and I've tried others and the longest I can get is 1.540"

won't everybody need to trim the brass down or get their chamber necks reamed longer? maybe call it "long neck dasher"
