You may want to consider who you bank with

Why should he reconsider using Wells Fargo???????

Seems they might get hit with a one billion dollar fine. Something to do with some type of auto insurance scheme. Not really sure on the exact cause. Didn't read the whole article cause I don't and wouldn't bank with them.

Sounds like they saw an opportunity to gain a whole bunch of customers after all the bad press they received last year. I'll never bank with them again, personally.

Amalgamated Banks 7,500 shares of Sturm Ruger are a drop in the bucket of Ruger's 17 million outstanding shares. Just grandstanding from a bank that has no clout.

I believe the post in this forum you gleaned that information from was really about the actions of Wells Fargo noted in the article below. All gun owners should be supporting Wells Fargo!!!!

So Wells Fargo doesn’t cave in to the current anti-gun push, but we shouldn’t support them for a totally unrelated issue that probably doesn’t impact anyone on this forum???

It's the BIG guys against the Little guys. You think Wells Fargo cares a bit about you? Think again. Been dealing with Wells Fargo for about the last three years.
I have a DPoA to take care of my 84 year old big sister's finances. I ended up putting big sister in a board and care facility because she couldn't/wasn't taking care of herself. If I hadn't made that move, she wouldn't have lasted another week. Lucky for her, she had a good job for years and her investment $$ allows me to pay for her excellent care.
Over the last three years, I have had MANY signed papers certified, faxed and shipped all over the country plus numerous phone calls to try and get access to sisters funds to pay for her care.. Too many to count but there's always "just one more" needed. On the last phone call I made to the Financial Advisors I was told, "We arn't servicing that account anymore"!??? Last straw.
On stop at my local bank, (been in business in the same place for the last 100+ years and I personally know a BUNCH of the folks working there and they know me) a 15 minute conversation, a couple of signatures and in about a weeks time, I had ALL of sisters funds transferred away from Wells Fargo to the tune of around $250K +!! Got cash in hand and access to how ever much I'll need at a later date. Funny what one phone call and an eyeball to eyeball contact can do. ;)
Did the same thing to B of A. They jerked me around so I pulled my measly $20K out and moved it to my local bank. This "little Guy has finally had enough of being crapped on by the Big Boys. They may not feel it but it sure feels GOOD to me.:D

My dad used to say the same thing (jokingly, of course) about Walmart. Thought they were the BANE of small town existence. "I showed them" he would say....."I won't shop there...that'll show em" :D

It is hard to find a company willing to stand up to the anti 2A nazis right now. I couldn't find an a airline or rental car company earlier this week when I booked a business trip. We should be very thankful to have a bank with some backbone to stand up.

That said, no bank is perfect and they've all upset me at one time or another. Look past the pimples at what they are standing up for.

Jerry, were you shopping online, or calling the companies?

I did the same thing, I had been with World saving, the same branch since I was 7 years old, 1975, when Well Fargo bought them out a few years ago they kept screwing me around and when asked to speak with the manager I was told she was busy. So I told the assistant manager if he could fix what they screwed up then I would pull everything. He smirked and said sorry, so I told him cash me out, he asked how much, I told him everything, checking, 5 savings, and several others. He said what do you mean, I said I mean what I told you, cash me out! He said wait let me get my manager, I told him too late, the time to do that was the first tim I asked, cash me out. He said well I can transfer it or write you a check. I said no cash will do, it's probably too much for you to have on hand today so put an order in for it and I will pick it up monday. Needless to say I got a call from the manager on that sunday asking if there was anything she could do to rectify the problem. I told her to late she shouldn't have been busy bullshitting in the corner and laughing when I asked to see her, Ill be in on monday. I made her count it all out to me. The assistant manager looked like he had very little ass left, and what was looked sore.lol
