If you trade the wife for Benchrest you will be dollars ahead! LOL Just kidding, its no fun you wouldnt get hookedI won't watch the video 'cause I'm skeerd I'll get the bug, and that's an expensive hobby. I'm in the middle of remodeling projects, not to mention getting the new factory up and running and back under production. I'm a feerin' if I go to one the wife will tell me not to come back.
I'll just stick to personal grudge matches for short-stacks of mula. At least that way I've got some money coming back in to justify the ghetto rifles I put some money into. But thanks for posting, I'll bookmark the video for the day I scrape up some guts. haha
You ain't a kidding there! Wives are an even more expensive hobby! This one's a keeper though. She thinks like a man, is mechanically minded, speaks 4 languages, and has the sexiest French accent I've ever heard. So I really hate to lose her!If you trade the wife for Benchrest you will be dollars ahead! LOL Just kidding, its no fun you wouldnt get hooked![]()
I dont think there is any long range Benchrest in Tx.That sounds great! But the sixty four thousand dollar question is, is there ever a match in the Houston/Galveston area?
Btw, Thanks!
I don't think they have enough room for a 1000 yd range.I dont think there is any long range Benchrest in Tx.

Alex - We shoot harder stuff down here
Rusty - Not exactly Galveston but the Huntsville guys are as good as they come. They have short range stuff and clay matches...Check out TexasBenchrest.com and Walker County Benchrest...they have clay matches. Another place to look is Mike Cockcroft is going to run an Australian Fly Match first one is in September. Only reason I miss the Huntsville stuff is if I have to work...I really enjoy shooting with the group down there and we shoot stuff that is fun to shoot. Clays, shatterblasters, aspirins, poker chips, bottle caps...just about anything that does something besides putting a hole in paper.
I'm just messing with you guys...it's all fun when you can use your booger picker on a bang switch![]()
To be honest the reason I will probably never get serious about F-class is the amount of ammo you have to load. I am lazy, loading 40 for record was bad enough for me![]()
You guys dont want to shoot BR because the group sizes get published! LOL I like f-class and Br, they are 95% the same sport to me. To be honest the reason I will probably never get serious about F-class is the amount of ammo you have to load. I am lazy, loading 40 for record was bad enough for me![]()
Hey Larry, just shooting for "fun" without any competition involved is not fun for me. I am quite sure many people go out "shooting" just to shoot, and that is the end of their plan>>>to just shoot. However, the "fun" for me is derived from the competition I have with others in my discipline. I love "State Championships" and "Regionals" and the like. That is where the competition is fierce, I RARELY win>>BUT I always have loads of fun!I can say their I some interest in long range shooting
A week ago I helped two shooters to shoot at 1000 yards . Furnished the gun and the rest along with bullets. The shot 1018 yards at a 8" steel gong. They are now checking on a guns and equipment . We are going to do it again this weekend at 600 yards .
They ask about paper I told the gun will let them only heavy class . When I told them what it wold take to make weigh to be competitive . The said they had no interest .
Many will shoot if you take competive competition out of it . Just make it FUN .
Larry
Are they wrong for doing what they enjoy. I think not .Hey Larry, just shooting for "fun" without any competition involved is not fun for me. No they are not wrong for dong what they want to do.. I never said they were wrong. However, whatever discipline they shoot in, they need to abide by the rules. If they just want to shoot there is plenty of "room" for that too! OR they may even decide to start a loose form of some competition so they can shoot and somehow keep score. That is entirely up to them and there is absolutely nothing wrong with any of it. BUT I was just saying that with many people, competition IS the driving force..Are they wrong for doing what they enjoy. I think not .
I feel the same about shooting paper .
My self if we want to keep the game alive provide something for every one . Larry
