yardage adjusment??

prettey new to the precision/accuracy seen. currently loading for an RRA 20'S.S.,free float, match trigger. At the moment,i'm embarresed to type this)have a Simmons 44Mag 6-20 mil dot scope mounted.

What does or how does everyone keep track or record at what distance the bullet drops and wind effects? Have never even came close to using my equipment the way it was desinged for. After reading many of the threads her i'm beginning to understand things a little better LOL. Boy iv'e been in the dark to long. Not competing on the BR seen, just trying to kill more varmints and become a better/more precise shooter.

never realized those turrets were used for more than zeroing in the scope.

thanks,
this site has really opened my eyes to more than just throwing lead down range.

Go to the range on a calm day.Bring along a portable weather station, put the days stats in a notebook, also note sunny, cloudy, variable clouds etc. Put a Highlighted mark on the windage/elevation turrets when zeroed.now change yardages, note impact change)clicks. Now every time you go to the range do the same thing. It's just a matter of doing the BOOKWORK and verifying the results . Just leave the calm day marks on the turrets. Load specifics are also a major part of the setup
