I want to install an XP style external bolt stop/release on a 700. I wouldn't see the need for the actions to be too hard, but don't know.

Is it feasible to d&t a 10-32 fairly easily?

Thanks.

Rich

This pic is from benchrest.com, very similar to the one I had on an old XP

Thats not an xp style bolt release. Thats an aftermarket bolt release sold by sinclair installed on an xp because the factory release is difficult to use

Install an Anschutz style bolt stop as per most of the Custom Clone actions manufactured these days.

The plunger style shown is FUGLY to say the least.

Dusty,

Understood. The one I made was just a screw with a big checkered grip.

Chuck,

Nice work. I'm lacking the proper equipment to do that style.

Here are a couple of photos of the bolt release I supply. Several have been purchased for adding to XP's

Since I've had some inquiries.

They are $50 for the release shipped. I take cards, paypal or check.

That release shown in the top photo takes more than a 10-32TPI to do it...
It needs a lot larger hole in the receiver to use it, 5/16th come to mind, but don't hold me to that...
but it's no harder to do than a little one...
