I have an XP-100 in 7mm IHMSA, a caliber that is hard to find and (I think) somewhat out of date, which is to say, overcome by modern ballistics.
Has anyone out there ever re-barreled an XP-100 to 6.5 Creedmore? The Creedmore and 7 mm IHMSA are very, very similar cartridges in terms of dimensions. It might take a different load to burn all the powder in a 15" barrel, but if the IHMSA can do it and develop 2,000 FPS, the Creedmore might do as well or better.
Any thoughts on this?
