No. It's a private range. 200 yards max but all open to the berm. I'm using flags, just want an actual speed figure that's better than a S.W.A.G.

They do work, I have one similar from a few years back.
i have a cheap one similar to the one in link krack posted. its ok but sometimes hard for me to orient in the proper direction. i want one i can set on a tripod and it will rotate and tell me wind direction and speed
I'm sure switching winds are problematic as well, and that's fine. I just want something better than a guess, because I know for a fact that estimating wind speeds is NOT in my skill set. Not something I've ever needed to consider before.

I have one of these it is non-directional so wind from any direction. reads current, max speed and average
Thanks for posting that. I have one of those too. I can't under any circumstances recommend one of those junkers that need aiming. Here are alternates, lower priced ones that may work well.
