Wind speed indicating device

Looking for a wind speed indicator of some sort. Doesn't need to be precise, just interested in something better than a rough guess from the local weather report. This has been brought up before, but my searches show threads from about 2013. Thinking there might be something simple and small on the market that wasn't back then. Any suggestions?

No. It's a private range. 200 yards max but all open to the berm. I'm using flags, just want an actual speed figure that's better than a S.W.A.G.

i have a cheap one similar to the one in link krack posted. its ok but sometimes hard for me to orient in the proper direction. i want one i can set on a tripod and it will rotate and tell me wind direction and speed

I'm sure switching winds are problematic as well, and that's fine. I just want something better than a guess, because I know for a fact that estimating wind speeds is NOT in my skill set. Not something I've ever needed to consider before.

For known distance target shooting an actual speed isn't really important just knowing how much push and where that the condition you are seeing is moving the bullet.

I bought this. It's years old, works well. Gives atmospheric pressure, handy for ELR.

Interesting point : the wind at the firing position has the greatest overall effect over the bullet trajectory.

No problem, I was just adding info. I'm not sure what shooting activity you are interested in. I was referring to competition myself. Knowledge is never a bad thing. Good shooting to you!

I have a Caldwell Wind Wizard that seems to work ok. I think they are around $50.

I use a kestrel 5700 for wind and drops.

Trapper beat me to it. Caldwell makes one that is pretty cheap and seams to work.
